Fans show their love for their favorite artists in many ways, and back in 2022, country music star Lainey Wilson met a fan with some serious dedication. The singer took to Instagram with a post about a fan who had a huge tattoo on his arm…of her face.

As Wilson explained in the post’s caption, she encountered the fan in Duluth, Minnesota. Other fans shared their reactions to the tattoo in the comments section, with one exclaiming: “Now that’s when [you] know you have made it!” As for Wilson, she later shared her feelings about the tattoo in an interview with The Bobby Bones Show.

A tattoo is a major commitment, and Wilson told The Bobby Bones Show that she worried her Duluth fan would live to regret his ink. “I was like, ‘I hope you really like me several years from now, because you’re gonna be living with that forever,’” She explained. The host joked that Wilson should avoid doing anything that might embarrass the tattoo’s owner someday.

Although Wilson shared that she couldn’t see herself getting a tattoo like that, she was still amazed by its accuracy and touched that someone would pay tribute to her in that way. “It was unreal,” she told the host. She was also awestruck by the tattoo’s size, saying: “I put my head next to the tattoo of me and it was the same exact size.”

Another Fan Once Got a Tattoo of Wilson’s Handwriting

Of course, Wilson’s Duluth fan isn’t the only one who has gotten inked in her honor. Many go to tattoo artists for some original Wilson-inspired art, but one fan went straight to the source. In a 2024 video clip, Wilson writes a message on a woman named Charlie Johnson’s shoulder blade. As the video shows, Johnson later had a tattoo artist copy over the message, which has the song title, “Wildflowers & Wild Horses,” with a small heart next to it.

Despite all the ink she’s inspired, Wilson told Taste of Country that she doesn’t have any tattoos of her own. However, she also didn’t fully discount the possibility. “I don’t think I would [get one], but never say never.”
