Lainey Wilson Reveals She Froze Her Eggs in the Trailer for Her New Documentary: ‘Sometimes the Lord Has Other Plans’

‘Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool’ premieres on April 22 on Netflix

Lainey Wilson is getting candid about her fertility journey.

In the trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which dropped on Wednesday, April 8, the country singer offers a sneak peek of the revelations the film has in store.

At one point in the trailer, Wilson says that she feels in her heart that she was “called to be a mama.”

“But sometimes the Lord just has other plans,” Wilson, 33, says, before revealing, “I’m gonna freeze my eggs in April, put them babies on ice.”

Then, the trailer shows clips of Wilson smiling in a hospital gown — and a clip of her lying in a hospital bed with fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges by her side.

Though the “Hang Tight Honey” singer hasn’t publicly spoken about wanting to be a mom in the past, she has opened up about the value of family.

“My family means a whole lot to me. I am who I am because of the people who raised me,” she told American Songwriter in August 2023. “I love them, I really do. I feel like I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t raised by Brian and Michelle Wilson.”

Elsewhere in the trailer for her documentary, Wilson also opens up about her reason for wanting to shed light on her life story.

“It is a whirlwind. The performer, the artist, the songwriter, the girl who’s going to shake everybody’s hand,” she says, before showing a clip where she says she’s “just about people-d out.”

“I think it is important to show people that I don’t have my s— all together,” she says. “I am thankful for the life that I live. It’s about celebrating what we are given. It is a gift. This is all a gift.”

Wilson concludes, “People keep saying country’s cool again. Well, I say it never stopped being cool. The world just caught up.”

PEOPLE got an early sneak peek of Wilson’s documentary in March and she spoke about the night that she and the former NFL star met. At the time, she said, she was “so broke” and “he thought I was doing a little bit better than I was.”
