‘Real’ reason for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s divorce revealed by inner circle source

The real reason for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s divorce has reportedly been revealed by sources close to the country music star.

Members of his inner circle have opened up to claim it was 58-year-old Urban’s midlife crisis that finally drove them apart.

They have told RadarOnline that the split was the latest example of a “string of confusing choices” that started in January after the release of his new album High.

It was then that he made a shock line-up change, parting ways with two band members who had been influential with his music career.

One of them, bandleader and bass player Jerry Flowers, had been with Urban for more than 25 years.

At the time, Tully Kennedy, the bass player for fellow country music star Jason Aldean, expressed his disappointment at news of the abrupt change, saying “This is a massive loss for Keith and all his fans. You are such a bad ass and I gotta say this makes no sense.”

There has been speculation that Urban began “acting out”, including with an on-stage flirtation with his much younger guitarist Maggie Baugh during his High and Alive World Tour, sparking rumours of a romance.

Then, amid what sources called his frustration with being “trapped” in a “sexless marriage”, he moved out of the family home and into his own place in Nashville, prompting Kidman to give up her attempts to save their relationship and file for divorce.

At the time, those close to the Oscar-winning star, who had recently appeared in a number of sexually charged films, said she was blindsided by Urban’s decision to end their 19-year marriage.

“Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed,” an insider told People. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”

Kidman filed for divorce on September 30 and days later Urban was spotted at a gig without his wedding ring.

Soon after the split became public, rumours were swirling that he might have already moved on with a younger woman.

“The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery,” a Nashville music business PR source told the Daily Mail.

It was speculated that the mystery woman could be 25-year-old Baugh, after the singer changed the lyrics to his love song Fighter, which was believed to have been inspired by Kidman.

The original lyric is: “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter”.

Instead Urban sang: “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.” and he also pointed to her when he sang “I was born to love you”.

Neither Urban or Baugh have confirmed a relationship.
