Duck Dynasty Fans Had Been Worried About Miss Kay

For the past year, Duck Dynasty fans have been following the news about Phil and Miss Kay Robertson’s health.

In February, the Robertsons shared that Phil and Kay had moved from their beloved Louisiana home to be closer to town, making it easier for them to receive the care they needed.

Kay suffered a severe fall in early 2025 that resulted in an infection. Her son, Jase, said the situation seemed dire, and he “thought it was life-threatening.” Thankfully, she recovered.

Phil was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and a blood disorder, and sadly, passed away on May 25.

After Phil died, his and Kay’s son, Willie, spoke to USA Today. He commented on his mom’s well-being, saying she was “not in the best of health.” This comment made fans concerned about Miss Kay, and they anxiously waited for any news about her health and condition.

Kay Robertson Dispels False News About Her Health

The Robertsons kept their followers in the loop about Kay after Phil passed away. She spent Father’s Day with her son, Jase, and his family. Jase’s wife, Missy, said:

She is surrounded by family and friends every single day. She’s even back to drawing farm animals for the kids. Thank you for praying for her. She’s an amazing lady!

In June, Jase and his older brother Al spoke on their family’s Unashamed podcast about the “fake news” circulating about Miss Kay’s health. They noticed the reports increased and became more exaggerated after their brother Willie spoke to USA Today.

He just made a general statement about her health. Which could define someone at almost 80. Most people, I mean, generally, let’s face it, you got some struggles once you get close to that number.”

“She is doing amazing, by the way. She’s had a huge bounce back physically.”

Kay played her own role in putting the rumors to rest when she appeared on the Duck Call Room podcast later in June. She, Al, Justin Martin, and Uncle Si, talked about the fake AI-generated posts that claimed she had been in terrible health and passed away.

She lives! You live mom,” Al said while introducing her to the audience.

Kay joked, “Thank goodness! I’m tired of being dead.”

Al And Jase Robertson Reveal Miss Kay Is No Longer In Assisted Living

On August 18, Al and Jase Robertson shared a new episode of the Unashamed podcast. In it, they shared some good news about Miss Kay’s health.

Mom has not been in the best of health for a bit, [for] the last couple [of] years,” Al said at the beginning of the podcast. “And then she got a lot better, I think, not too long after dad crossed over. But then she had a setback, ’cause she had to have surgery…she’s doing well again, the surgery was a successshe looks great.”

Jase and Al also said that Miss Kay is no longer in assisted living and has returned home to the Robertson family property. She’s living with Al’s daughter, Anna, “right in the middle” of the Robertson family compound. She had just gone out to eat with Al and his family and had a great time.
