Justin Bieber Responds to Mom Pattie Mallette’s Plea for Him to Heal Wounds
After Justin Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette asked for prayers to “heal every wound” in the “Hold On” singer’s “heart, mind and body,” he shared his candid thoughts in the comment section.
Justin Bieber is walking away from this conversation.
Two weeks after his mom Pattie Mallette shared a cryptic Instagram post about cheering and praying for her son “always,” the “Baby” singer reacted to her message with an eyebrow-raising response.
“Only thing I need healing from,” Justin commented on Oct. 5, “is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong.”
Pattie, however, believes that the Grammy winner—who shares 13-month-old son Jack Blues Bieber with wife Hailey Bieber—could do with some additional support through religion.
“I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin,” she captioned her Sept. 22 Instagram post. “Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain—be broken in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION.”
“HEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen,” the 50-year-old continued, “restore what’s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS.”
She concluded her message by praying for Justin’s life to be a “bold witness” to “love, and healing grace.”
For Justin, a connection to religion has been a necessary support amid his emotional struggles and sobriety journey.
“He is grace,” he told GQ in April 2021. “Every time we mess up, He’s picking us back up every single time. That’s how I view it. And so it’s like, ‘I made a mistake. I won’t dwell in it. I don’t sit in shame. But it actually makes me want to do better.’”
Another anchor in his life? His marriage to the Rhode Beauty founder, although it wasn’t always easy.
“The first year of marriage was really tough,” he admitted, “because there was a lot, going back to the trauma stuff. There was just lack of trust. There was all these things that you don’t want to admit to the person that you’re with, because it’s scary. You don’t want to scare them off by saying, ‘I’m scared.’”

Over time, however, Justin, 31, and Hailey, 28, found their footing.
“We’re just creating these moments for us as a couple, as a family, that we’re building these memories,” he explained. “It’s beautiful that we have that to look forward to. Before, I didn’t have that to look forward to in my life.”
“My home life was unstable,” he continued. “Like, my home life was not existing. I didn’t have a significant other. I didn’t have someone to love. I didn’t have someone to pour into. But now I have that.”
