On Thursday, April 2, the president took to Truth Social to pen a brutal message aimed at Springsteen, 76, with whom he has exchanged jabs for years. “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” the 79-year-old Republican president wrote.

“The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election,” he added. “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.” The long-running feud between the president and “The Boss” dates back at least a decade.

Trump’s lashing out came in response to Springsteen’s opening monologue at the Target Center in Minneapolis for the opening night of his Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour. The singer launched into a monologue in which he denounced the president and his administration while evoking a different version of the United States.

And now another huge star has got involved in the saga. On Thursday evening, ABC host Jimmy Kimmel, who has had his own run-ins with the president, took to Instagram to share a screengrab of Trump’s Truth Social post.

Next to it, he penned, “If you’ve never seen the great Bruce @Springsteen in concert, I can’t think of a better reason to finally do it than this! Portland, OR (4/3) Inglewood, CA (4/7 & 4/9) San Francisco, CA (4/13) Phoenix, AZ (4/16) Newark, NJ (4/20) Sunrise, FL (4/23).”

“Austin, TX (4/26) Chicago, IL (4/29) Atlanta, GA (5/2) Belmont Park, NY (5/5) Philadelphia, PA (5/8) New York, NY (5/11 & 5/16) Brooklyn, NY (5/14) Pittsburgh, PA (5/19) Cleveland, OH (5/22) Boston, MA (5/24) Washington, DC (5/27),” Kimmel added as he listed all of Springsteen’s upcoming tour dates.

The comment section was filled with fans revealing they were planning to buy tickets or watch Bruce on tour. The singer kicked off his performances in Minneapolis by taking aim at Trump.

“We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals,” Sprinsgteen declared. “Democracy, our Constitution and our sacred American promise, the America that I love, the America that I’ve written about for 50 years, that’s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration.”

“We are living through some very dark times. Our American values that have sustained us for 250 years are being challenged as never before,” he continued.

The New Jersey native encouraged his audience to choose “hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency.” He launched into his nearly 40-year-old song War as he called for the concertgoers to preserve unity and peace.

This grueling back-and-forth adds to a lengthy feud between the president and the rocker. In 2012, before his entry into politics, Trump repeatedly singled out Springsteen on social media. “Why would Ohio listen to Bruce Springsteen reading his lines? Be careful or I will go to Ohio and @MittRomney will win it,” he wrote on X after the musician appeared at a “get‑out‑the‑vote” rally for then-President Barack Obama.

In September of 2016, two months before the election, Springsteen blasted Trump as a “moron” in Rolling Stone, warning that the republic was “under siege” and calling it “a tragedy for our democracy.” He endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Since then, the Born to Run singer has remained outspoken about his opposition to the president, labeling his administration “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous” last May.
