Jena Sims, the wife of LIV Golf star and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, has shared the tragic news that the couple have lost a baby. Sims, 36, took to Instagram on Monday to announce that she had been 16 weeks pregnant when her unborn child’s heart had stopped beating.

It has left both Jena and her husband, Brooks, devastated, though she is hoping more awareness can be raised for other women and couples experiencing pregnancy loss.

“At 16 weeks, we learned that our baby’s heart had stopped beating,” Sims posted. “This is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day.”

“Too often, these struggles happen in silence,” she added. “There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women’s reproductive health.

“If you’re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone.”

Amid her natural sadness and raising awareness for losing a child while pregnant, Sims didn’t forget to mention the healthcare workers who deal with those situations every single day.

“Lastly, I want to recognise the doctors and nurses who must deliver this kind of heartbreaking news every day,” she finished. “It has to be the hardest part of their job, and I’m holding space in my heart for you too.”

Her post has received more than 20,000 likes within the first 19 hours and in excess of 800 comments, with reporter Amanda Balionis and influencer Paige Spiranac among those who have reacted.

Sims, an actress and model, met Brooks at the 2015 Masters before the couple, who tied the knot in 2022, welcomed their son, Crew, back in 2023.

She hailed her husband as an “amazing father” after the pair faced challenges when Crew arrived seven weeks early in 2023, something that resulted in him spending 20 days in a neonatal intensive care unit before requiring more than a year of treatment wearing a helmet to address congenital torticollis.

“I think my life has changed a lot the last four years,” Koepka previously said about becoming a father. “Obviously having a son changes my perspective on life, not just golf. Maybe golf was kind of everything for me, but having Crew definitely changes my perspective.”

Koepka finished the current LIV Golf season with two top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish in Singapore, which represented his best result of the year.

As for the majors, he missed the cut in three of them and finished T12 in the US Open. In his most recent tournament, Koepka finished T15 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
