Jason Aldean‘s 7-year-old son, Memphis, is on the mend after an overnight visit to the emergency room, where he was treated for a broken collarbone.

According to an Instagram story from the country superstar’s wife, Brittany Aldean, revealed that she and Jason Aldean spent several hours in the emergency room on Monday evening (July 14). Brittany shared that Memphis is recovering, but he fractured his collarbone on his left side and will remain in a sling for a few weeks to heal.

“It was a long night in the ER, but Memphis is ok! He fractured his collarbone and will be in a sling for a couple [of] weeks. Just some rest and extra lovin, he’ll be healed before we know it,” Brittany wrote alongside a heart and praise hands emoji.

In a follow-up Instagram story, Brittany posted a video captured by Jason, showing her sitting at Memphis’ bedside while he laid still in the hospital bed.

Jason Aldean then chimes from behind the camera. “How you feeling, buddy? Better, you feel better?” Jason asked. Memphis then replied, “kind of.” Jason then told his son, “I hope it’s not broke, but I think maybe you’re probably gonna have to get a little sling. I bet they’ll give you a little sling.”

Jason Aldean’s dad, Barry, who was in the room off camera, then asked Memphis, “What did I tell you to tell your buddies when they ask you what happened?” Memphis then cracked a smile and replied, “I’m not going to tell them that, they’re definitely not going to believe me.”

Barry joked that Memphis should tell his friends that a group of guys “jumped” or “mugged” him and he “beat ‘em all up.”

“Still making us laugh even in the ER,” Brittany wrote on the screen as an overlay.

The Aldean’s and their son, Memphis, are back home after a long evening in the emergency room. Their 7-year-old son will now relax and recover from the injury over the next few weeks while wearing a sling.

According to NHS Inform, a collarbone fracture can take anywhere from “6 to 12 weeks to heal.”

Memphis, born on December 1, 2017, is the first child Jason and Brittany Aldean had together and Jason’s third child overall. He’s a proud big brother to his younger sister, Navy, and a younger sibling to Jason’s older daughters from a previous relationship (Jessica Ussery), Keeley and Kendyl.

Jason Aldean recently opened up about his children, sharing that he has taken on the role of “chauffeur” as they’re all involved in different extracurricular activities, which means he has to plan ahead to try “to figure out how to get everybody where they need to be.”

“Yeah, I mean right now kids are all playing sports. So Memphis is in baseball, Navy’s and softball. Kendall’s playing flag football at her school, and so they’re just kind of all over the map,” he said during a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie Neal on Katie & Company. “So we’ve spent a lot of time going to practices and games and doing all that kind of stuff, and all that’s about to wrap up here in the next week or two and get ready for summer.”
