Morgan Wallen Skipped ACM Awards To Hit the Links With NFL Legend Tom Brady

Although the ACM Awards celebrated several country stars like Chris Stapleton, Ella Langley, Zach Top, and Brooks & Dunn, the night went to Lainey Wilson. Taking over country music, the singer not only performed but walked away with Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Artist-Songwriter of the Year, and Album of the Year for Whirlwind.

A complete sweep for Wilson, the ACM Awards appeared to completely forget about country star Morgan Wallen. Also up for a few awards, it appeared that Wallen didn’t mind losing as he skipped the ceremony to hit the links with Tom Brady.

Given the stardom surrounding Brady, it made perfect sense that practically any celebrity would jump at the chance to play golf with him. As for Wallen, his absence from the ACM Awards might be strategic. It seemed like Morgan always found himself at the center of controversy when it came to the spotlight. Not that long ago, he set social media on fire when he decided to leave the stage early on Saturday Night Live. Wanting to get back home to what he considered “God’s country”, rumors swirled around his exit.

Wallen’s absence from the spotlight could have been a safe move. But even with the singer skipping the ACM Awards, the organization left him completely empty-handed at this year’s event. Starting the night, Wallen received seven nominations that included Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Just last year, Wallen won Entertainer of the Year, but this year, his seat remained empty.

Morgan Wallen Catches Football From Tom Brady

While not taking home any awards, Wallen didn’t seem to care that much as he shared a post on his Instagram stories that showed the singer on the golf course with Brady. And although they were there to play some golf, Wallen, like every fan, wanted to know what it was like to catch a football thrown by the NFL legend.

Capturing the exact moment the ball left Brady’s hands, Wallen prepared for the catch as he captioned the post, “Had a little mustard on it Tom Brady.”

Although snubbed at the ACM Awards, Wallen walked away the true winner as spending a day with Brady was sure to ease the pain of going 0-7 at the event.
