Country singer Gabby Mooney recently appeared on Hulu’s “IMPACT x Nightline” for its “Back From The Dead” episode, and she had one harrowing story to tell.

Mooney, 37, who is the sister of Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney is lucky to be alive. In the interview, conducted by ABC’s “Nightline” correspondent Ashan Singh, Mooney shared that her ordeal began when she was driving home to Arkansas back in 2023. Mooney said she had a bad headache that she just couldn’t shake.

“This one was so pounding that I could barely see the road, but I remember thinking, I’m just going to keep driving,” she said. “You’re going to feel so much better in your own bed. And I just wanted to make it home.”

Mooney did make it home, but she said her mother woke her up in the middle of the night, and she was feeling worse.

“She’s like, ‘Ah, I think we need to take you to the hospital,’” Mooney said. “And I said, ‘No, no, no, I’m good.’ And she said I started having seizures. It was tornado weather so the ambulances were not running. And so my dad and my mom, they called a private ambulance company and they met them at a Baptist church about a few miles up the road so they could get me to the ER faster. I was having apparently multiple seizures in the ambulance.”

Mooney said she flatline when doctors at the hospital tried to intubate her.

“I died,” she said.

“When I was dead, I just knew that it was just like Jesus’ hand was just going like this, and my spirit was rising and it was just like, not yet,” Mooney added. “And I felt that of knowing that it was not my time, and it was just like this communication between me and the father, but also it felt the most peaceful, incredible feeling I had ever felt in my life.

“I didn’t want to come back.”
