There’s no crazier meet and greet tactic than trying to convince Riley Green that he could be your new dad, but still, one fan tried it.

In a resurfaced interview clip with Gabe Mercer from Seattle 100.7 The Wolf, she’s chatting with the one and only Duckman himself when she throws out the question, “What is the craziest rumor you’ve heard about yourself?”

Green immediately recalls an outrageous story from a meet and greet in 2023 at the Boots & Hearts festival in Ontario, Canada, responding, “This one guy up at a meet and greet in Canada somewhere and he had a picture of this guy that he thought was me that tried to pick his mom.”

Unfortunately for the mom, Green disputed the claims, “There’s like a TikTok of it out there, like he comes up and he’s like you tried to hit on my mom at Kid Rock’s bar and I was like ‘it wasn’t me in the picture’ but he was so sure.”

Mercer responds with, “Did he try to fight you?” to which Green reassures, “No, he’s like happy about it, like he was like really close to trying to like call me Dad.” I’d bet that more than a few fans have wanted to call Green that nickname in plenty of meets & greets, but this had to be a first in this context, coming from a teenage boy.

Sure enough, if you scroll far enough back into the “Worst Way” singer’s TikToks, you’ll find the interaction with his caption setting the record straight, “Had to beat the allegations,” along with some hilarious hashtags: #mistakenidentity, #wasntme, #unless. The fan wasn’t the only one who took a loss that day. Whoever the doppleganger was that was hitting on the boy’s mom in Nashville got a brutal review from Green, who was almost offended by the claim.

Grabbing the phone, he inspects the man and proclaims, “That’s not me, dude. Ya, but his beard doesn’t look anything like me, look at how big his nose is,” and continues to point out, “look how big his ears are.” Note to self, if you think you resemble Riley Green in even the slightest bit, don’t bring it up to him.

For fans who still want an opportunity to see everyone’s dream country music dad live in concert, his upcoming Cowboy As It Gets Tour is kicking off in April, where he’ll be joined by a stacked lineup of openers like Drake White, MacKenzie Carpenter, Zach John King, Hannah McFarland, and more.
