Not holding back.
Of course, I’m sure we’ve all seen the massive, horrific news story that Conservative activist and media personality Charlie Kirk was shot and killed two days ago while hosting an event at Utah Valley University courtyard as part of The American Comeback Tour, which was hosted by the TPUSA chapter at Utah Valley.
During the event, Kirk was sitting under a tent with a massive crowd gathered around him as he spoke to the students. A singular shot was fired at Kirk, striking him in the neck, and he died shortly thereafter, leaving behind two very young children and his wife, Erika.
It has been incredibly sad to see and read about, and I can only imagine how heartbroken Erika, his kids and family are. Yesterday, Erika was seen arriving back home in Phoenix, Arizona with Charlie’s body, alongside Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance, and my prayers go out to her because there aren’t even words for how disgusting and horrific this event was.
Many from both sides of the political aisle have offered their prayers and condolences to Erik and her family, and plenty of country musicians have been speaking out about the political violence that occurred this week, which has absolutely no place in America.
And Hardy is no exception.
During his show at Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi last night, Hardy did not mince his words on the tragedy, saying he wanted to remind everyone just how “fragile life is,” noting that he was so saddened by the “tragic loss” of Charlie for simply exercising his rights to freedom of speech.
I imagine many of us feel the same way right now, and it’s certainly top of mind considering all of the tragic recent events that have occurred in this country:
“I also want to bring to light how fragile life is. Obviously yesterday, we saw a very tragic loss, what I consider an extremely tragic loss because we had somebody that was exercising a lot of their human rights, also known as freedom of speech, who got brutally murdered in front of 10,000 people. I think it’s f****** bull****, and I think our country is a f****** mess.
So I wanna thank Charlie Kirk for his service and everything he did as a human being.
Lastly, two years ago, almost to the day, maybe one month shy, I was supposed to play here and I had what most people would call a mental breakdown, which I kind of narrowed down to a little bit of trauma I had to work out from my tour bus accident that myself and a few of our other crew members were in back in 2022 that I had not properly processed, if you will.
I just wanna thank you guys for your forgiveness, I wanna thank you for coming back. I know that was sh****… but I can promise you I am much better. I am in a completely different place now and I really thank you guys for your patience. I love you all, I love the state of Mississippi and I’m just happy to be back. I’m glad you guys are having fun.”
