Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on March 27th on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident.

According to the Daily Mail, golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested on March 27th after speeding on a residential road in Jupiter Island. While attempting to overtake a truck with a trailer, he rear-ended it, causing his SUV to flip over. Woods is accused of driving under the influence, causing property damage, and failing to comply with a mandatory drug test.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods was driving at high speed on a residential road and showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Initial assessments suggest he may have used some kind of stimulant or drug.
At the scene, Woods appeared lethargic. He agreed to a breathalyzer test, which came back negative, but twice refused a urine test, once at the scene and once at jail.

“He cooperated, but was very cautious in his words to avoid incriminating himself ,” said police officer Budensiek.
Woods was taken to the Martin County Public Safety Complex for processing at approximately 3 p.m. (local time). A photo of his file, released later that evening, showed a tired face with swollen and red eyes.
The golf legend was fortunate not to be injured in the accident. During his detention, he was held in solitary confinement for his safety.
After about eight hours, Woods was released on bail. As he left the detention center, he sat in the passenger seat, his face expressionless, his lips tightly pressed together, occasionally glancing at the crowd of reporters and fans surrounding him. The driver who took Woods away was reportedly Rob McNamara – his longtime friend and business partner.
Police Chief John Budensiek said Woods had to be held for a minimum of eight hours before being released on bail, emphasizing: “Whoever it is, if they break the law, they will be treated the same.”

This isn’t the first time Woods has been in trouble. In 2017, he was arrested for driving under the influence and found to have several drugs in his system, including two painkillers. He was subsequently admitted to a rehabilitation center to treat his painkiller addiction.
In 2009, he was involved in another serious accident when he crashed into a fire hydrant after being kicked out of the house by his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. This incident later led him to admit to a scandalous personal life, with numerous extramarital affairs and drug use.
In 2021, Woods suffered a serious accident in California, resulting in a severe injury to his right leg, requiring multiple surgeries for recovery.
