Gigi Hadid spoke about the relationship she has with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik and how they navigate raising their daughter Khai, four years after their breakup.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have a whole lot of history.

And now, years after ending their six year on-again, off-again, relationship, their focus is co-parenting their 4-year-old daughter, Khai.

“Zayn and I set up our custody arrangements months in advance,” Gigi said of their custody arrangement in an interview with Us.

“That doesn’t mean things don’t change here and there, but we help each other and support each other.”

As for the state of their relationship these days, the 29-year-old—who is currently dating Bradley Cooper—stressed that her and the “PillowTalk” singer’s focus is having, “love, and a feeling of camaraderie.”

Despite their tumultuous final split in 2021, following an alleged family dispute between Zayn, 32, and Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid, Gigi said that she and the former One Direction singer have learned to navigate the public’s perception of their time together.

“There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything,” the Next in Fashion host said. “And at the end of the day, we’re not interested in giving everyone our whole story.”

“What we are interested in is raising our daughter together,” she continued. “With so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we’ve been through together.”

And according to the “Love Like This” singer the mutual decision for him and Gigi—who chose not to show their daughter’s face on social media—to raise Khai out of the spotlight has worked wonders.

“When I found out that my partner at the time was pregnant, I pretty quickly made up my mind that this would be a great place to raise a child because there’s so much for her to do here,” Zayn told L’Officiel magazine about living in Pennsylvania in March 2023. “So, we do spend a lot of time outside.”

He continued, “We do the gardening. She likes to camp with me. We cook outside. We fish a little bit. And she’s really into it, too, so it makes it fun. Hopefully, we can create some amazing memories here.”
