Controversial Turning Point Halftime Show Will Return For Next Super Bowl

Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show may become a franchise.

The patriotic event was created as an alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. It featured entertainment from Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett.

Before the event, the “All Summer Long” singer said, “We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?”

Well, Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, told Fox News that the nonprofit advocacy group is ready to sling a stone at the NFL again. We have the details below.

Turning Point USA Said the “All-American Halftime Show” Had 25 Million Views

Kolvet reported on X that the All-American Halftime Show pulled over 25 million on YouTube and Rumble. He claims the numbers were likely higher due to group viewings and broadcast partners. Other reports state that nearly five to six million viewers watched Turning Point USA’s event on YouTube.

Despite the disparity between the numbers, the organization said it has “running it back again next year. The All-American Halftime Show will be back in 2027.”

There Is Certainly Room for Improvement

Reviews for the first All-American Halftime Show were mixed.

Before it even began, many observers took issue with how the 55-year-old Kid Rock’s lyrics contradicted the wholesome values that the event was meant to highlight.

Others criticized the technical delays of the live-streamed event. However, many commented that the show was “awesome,” patriotic,” and “very moving.”

Some also pointed out that Kid Rock may have lip-synced through his hit “Bawitdaba.” He has vehemently denied this. Others noted that many of the songs performed felt too partisan for a show that was billed as an alternative to what many felt was a political choice in Bad Bunny.

The 35-minute show also featured a tribute to Charlie Kirk. The work of the political activist, who was assassinated last year, was highlighted several times during the show.

Given that Turning Point USA had only weeks to prepare for the inaugural event, the organization now has extra time to get things right.
