Billy Ray Cyrus’ Ex, Firerose, Claims That He Did Not Allow Her To Leave His Farm, Says She Was “Completely” Isolated From Friends & Loved Ones

Not holding back.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose had a short-lived whirlwind romance, as the couple divorced after just seven months of marriage. After finalizing their divorce in August of 2024, it appears that Billy Ray has moved on, hard launching his relationship with the Gossip Girl and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery actress Elizabeth Hurley in April of last year.

They seem to be doing well, as Hurley posts about Cyrus often, recently sharing a photo of them with her son, Damian, at Christmas, along with the caption:

“What a happy Christmas.”

But apparently, Cyrus had reached out to Hurley during his divorce from Firerose, seeking support, and the two friends grew closer from there, later turning their friendship into a romantic relationship.

“There has always been a spark, but he reached out again last year when his short-lived third marriage ended. He has had a really hard time, but she has been there helping him turn things around.”

A rep close to Firerose previously shared with PEOPLE Magazine that she had moved on, and she was focused on the next chapter of her life:

“Firerose is currently focused on her music, which continues to inspire new souls globally every day. She’s rising in her next chapter of artistic evolution, which reflects the profound strength, healing and transformation she’s been forged through.

She’s living her purpose by uplifting others out of the darkness with God’s love at the forefront.”

Firerose also spoke up personally last year, after Cyrus’ horrid Liberty Ball performance, making it seem like some of the odd behavior we saw on stage was a common theme in their relationship, and he has some deep issues that he needs to work on.

“What’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship. It’s very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light — for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem.”

And even though she claims to have moved on, she posted a lengthy explanation on Instagram yesterday reflecting on her 2025, along with including a video of her with Cyrus claiming she wasn’t “allowed to have friends, go to church or leave the farm.”

She added that she was “completely” isolated from her friends, claiming she was gaslit and manipulated by him:

“Completely isolating you from friends is one of the classic tactics used by abusers. It’s a dangerous form of coercive control. When you’re not allowed to see or speak to your loved ones, you’re far easier to gaslight and manipulate. They do this to:

➤ Control the narrative (you only hear their version of reality)
➤ Undermine your confidence (without others to reflect your worth, you begin to doubt yourself)
➤ Distort your perception (gaslighting thrives in isolation)
➤ Wear down resistance (without support, they can override your internal voice)

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone. Freedom and healing are possible.”

She also showed more recent videos show how much better she is doing now without Cyrus. If any of that is true, it’s awful, and I can certainly sympathize with how hard that would be to go through.

Of course, there are two sides to every story, but it sounds like both parties are doing much better now that the relationship is over.
