Fans Can’t Stop Comparing Ella Langley To Stevie Nicks & The Similarities Are Kind Of Uncanny

I can see it.
Ella Langley took the country music sphere by storm in 2023 with her debut EP Excuse The Mess. Since then, she has only grown in popularity, playing shows nationwide with other country stars and releasing hungover, an album that debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
On tour, Ella Langley will take out her tambourine, dance around the stage, and sing beautifully. Her sheer stage presence is mesmerizing to watch, and fans absolutely agree. We also cannot move forward without mentioning her impeccable sense of style. I mean, I need to meet with her stylist for some fashion advice.
With more videos of her tour performances garnering internet traction, people on TikTok began to point out the similarities they see between Ella and a certain 70s rock star.
That person? The one and only Stevie Nicks.
Nicks, of course, was a singer and songwriter for the wildly famous British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. The band was known for their genre-bending albums, introspective lyricism, notable melodies, and of course their stage presence.
One video that makes this comparison shows Ella Langley in one of her signature looks. Pictured in all black, flowy sleeves, and boots, she dances around the stage like a true star. This is very reminiscent of the way Stevie would back in the day. The caption reads:
“Our country Stevie Nicks.”
I can’t disagree with them, she really does remind me of Stevie Nicks.
Not only do fans think Ella commands a stage like Stevie, but they also draw comparisons to the way they both look. Besides the fact that they clearly share a similar taste in fashion, they also seem to have a similar facial structure. Take a look at this video comparing the two—it’s slightly uncanny.
I think the bangs are really what make the look.
As for comparisons, it certainly doesn’t hurt that Ella has done covers of Fleetwood Mac songs on tour in the past. One night, she covered “Rhiannon,” a song off Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled album. It truly is an incredible cover, and the rockstar appearance of Langley is very apparent. The text overlaying the video reads:
“Telling my kids this is Stevie Nicks.”
She really could be the Stevie of this generation.
If that wasn’t enough evidence for you, the most popular comparison between the two stars has to be their iconic duets.
If you have tuned in to any country music station in the last seven months, you have probably heard the song “You Look Like You Love Me,” a massively successful duet from Ella and Riley Green. And, if you haven’t been living under a rock, you would know the fabricated love story the internet created surrounding it.
Essentially, fans began to speculate that the two artists had a fling with one another, and that it was broken off sometime during their tours. There was clear chemistry between the two when performing, so when some of the performances seemingly lost that chemistry, people began to wonder if something had happened. Both Ella and Riley have put those theories to bed online, but it didn’t stop fans from comparing moments from their live shows to the iconic 1997 Fleetwood Mac “Silver Springs” performance.
The 1997 “Silver Springs” performance was so notable because of its backstory. At the time of the show, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham—both members of the band—were on severely bad terms with one another. With a messy break up and professional complications related to the band fueling her anger, Stevie rips Buckingham a new one with her killer performance. She sings the bridge passionately, staring him right in the eyes while she does. Singing:
“I’ll follow you down ‘till the sound of my voice will haunt you
Give me just a chance
You’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you”
Yeesh, harsh stuff.
While Ella and Riley have dismissed their dating rumors, the internet will be the internet, always searching for ways to theorize. There have been countless TikTok’s comparing the two situations. This one reads:
“I feel like I’m watching the country 2025 version of silver springs 1997”.
So, what do you think?
Is the internet just doing what the internet does best, or are there really some uncanny similarities between the two women?
Personally, I can see it.
