Country Star Says He’s “Going Into Debt” To Make Vegas Residency Happen, Join the Likes of Grateful Dead and The Rolling Stones

Zac Brown’s residency in Las Vegas isn’t going to be cheap. In an interview with Us Weekly, the country singer revealed that he’s going into debt to produce the show.

“[I’m] just going into debt to make it happen,” Brown told the outlet. “It’s a big moment in time and it’s like, for us, I want to be among the names of the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones and the bands that take that lifelong career impact fan journey to be able to do that. This is our statement to try to step into that.”

“Whatever adversity, I’m just like, ‘OK, bring it,’” he added. “There’s lots of forces that are always trying to distract you from what you’re doing, and you just got to just keep plowing, keep going.”

When fans arrive to the show, Brown said he wants them to “feel this sense of awe.”

“I hope they feel wonder,” he said. “Unpredictability is something we use in our live shows a lot. I love pulling out covers that no one would ever expect us to play, that’s super fun. This is the same thing visually, sonically—everything we’re doing.”

As for what fans can expect from Zac Brown Band’s time on stage, the singer teased, “I’m telling a lot of personal things about my life that I’ve never shared before.”

Brown also shared that redemption will be an ongoing theme throughout the show.

“Everything that’s hard that we go through as human beings always ends up making us better in some way,” he said. “Taking people on a journey through things that are uncomfortable and then creating that dissonance and then that tension and release is really the art of what we’re doing. I haven’t seen anything like what we’re doing there. So, it’s really exciting.”

Zac Brown Band’s Forthcoming Album

Zac Brown Band will play four shows at the Sphere this December, followed by two January concerts.

The residency is timed around the release of their forthcoming album, Love & Fear, which is set to drop Dec. 5. The 13-track album will feature collaborations with Dolly Parton, Marcus King, and Snoop Dogg.

Before they announced their latest LP, Zac Brown Band teased what’s in store during their next era, writing on Instagram, “The next chapter? It’s the biggest one yet. We’ll see you there.”
