Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter is pregnant. Emmy Russell, a former contestant on Season 22 of American Idol, is expecting her second child. Emmy

The video begins with Emmy attempting to get her daughter, Taylor Radiant, to surprise Tyler with the news. However, upon handing Taylor the positive pregnancy test, Taylor used it as a toy, throwing it around the room.

“I have a surprise,” Emmy says at the start of the video. “…Da-da! We got a surprise.”

In heartwarming fashion, Tyler then follows Taylor around the room, trying to retrieve his “surprise.” Upon seeing the positive pregnancy test, Tyler looks emotional and goes in for a heartfelt hug with Emmy. However, Taylor wasn’t going to be stopped, as she once again snatched the pregnancy test in order to throw it back to the floor.

Despite the pregnancy reveal, Emmy hasn’t revealed her due date as of yet. However, with the announcement only going public recently, it’s fair to assume she’s got plenty of time to share those details, should she wish to.

Emmy Russell Had a Difficult Birth With Taylor Radiant

Emmy experienced a terrifying birth when she delivered Taylor. In February 2025, she revealed that she almost passed away during childbirth.

“I got up and I thought I was gonna pass out,” Emmy said in a post on Instagram at the time. “I lost a liter of blood. And I’m gonna have to get a blood transfusion. It’s gonna be worth it.”

A few days later, Emmy posted an update on social media, detailing that she had, in fact, lost 1.6 liters of blood.

“I got the blood transfusion. I feel so much better. Still pretty weak today. But I had to get two full bags of blood,” Russell explained. “I lost 1.6 liters, so, more than a liter. I thought it was just a liter.”

It was during this update that Emmy admitted that she almost lost her life.

“Literally since I had the blood transfusion, before I even knew I was dying, he has changed every diaper. He fed her when I couldn’t feed her. Literally has been so hands-on,” she said. “But I would like him to have some time for himself.”

Considering those complications, Emmy will likely be under close monitoring from her doctors and associated health professionals. Nevertheless, it would appear that both Emmy and Tyler are happy and excited, and that’s what the experience is all about.
