Elon Musk has repeatedly stated his goal of colonizing Mars… and now he has confirmed that he is willing to die on the giant red planet, RadarOnline.com reveals.

The controversial billionaire has made it his mission to convince anyone who will listen that Earth is doomed, and that humanity’s future lies on Mars.

Late on the night of September 30, Musk was still lurking on his social media platform X, where he decided to respond to a post quoting Theodore Roosevelt’s famous quote.

User X posted an excerpt: “Anyone who claims to be an American and is something else at the same time is not an American at all. We have room for only one flag, the American flag… We have room for only one language, and that is English… and we have room for only one loyalty, and that is to the American people.”

Musk quickly responded, writing: “I have only one passport, now and forever: the United States. I will live and die here. Or on Mars (which is part of the United States).”

Fans of the Tesla CEO immediately responded in the comments section.

One person wrote: “If Mars wants to sustain itself, at some point it has to become independent of the US, right?”

Another added: “I want to see Mars colonization happen in my lifetime!”

And someone expressed harshly: “Please keep Mars independent. Let the US Congress rule Mars and everything will be ruined.”

The Earth is about to explode?

At 54, Musk believes Earth will not last much longer, and has repeatedly urged his loyal followers to pack their bags for a new life on Mars.

“The sun is expanding, and at some point we’re going to have to become a multi-planet civilization because Earth is going to burn up,” Musk told host Jesse Watters in an interview on Fox News. “The fundamental fateful turn is that Mars has to be self-sustaining and self-sufficient if the supply ships from Earth for some reason stop coming.”

“Whether civilization collapses in a bang or in a swoon, if resupply ships are vital to Mars survival, then we haven’t created a ‘human insurance’,” he added.

Scientists oppose Elon Musk

According to NASA, it is true that the Sun will run out of fuel and turn into a red giant star, engulfing planets like Mercury, Venus, and possibly Earth. But that event will only happen… in about 5 billion years.

Despite this, Musk continues to pursue his Mars dream, with 2028 being a realistic date for launching an unmanned Starship to Mars, and a crewed flight expected to take place by 2030.

In a response to an X user about the Mars plan, Musk said: “There is a slight chance that a crewed Starship flight to Mars will happen in November or December next year. But that would require a lot of things to go right. More likely is the first unmanned flight in about 3.5 years, then a crewed flight in about 5.5 years.”

Musk also added that Mars will have a “self-sustaining city within the next 20 to 30 years.”

However, living on Mars may not be such a good idea, at least according to biologist Scott Solomon, who has warned that it could “kill humanity.”
