Trump Takes Shot at Taylor Swift During Super Bowl LIX

Before the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, President Donald Trump made the unprecedented announcement that he’d attend the big game in New Orleans. Never before has a sitting president attended the Super Bowl.

While Trump posted on Truth Social on Sept. 15, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce gave a measured response about the president attending Super Bowl 58.

“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” Kelce told reporters on Feb. 5. “I think you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there — it’s the best country in the world — and that’s pretty cool.”

Swift attended the Super Bowl on Sunday, during which the crowd was heavily filled with Eagles fans. During one moment the pop star was shown on the Jumbotron, fans booed, which the “Karma” singer laughed off.

However, Trump used that video to take a shot at Swift on Truth Social.

The 78-year-old posted a side-by-side video of himself getting greeted with cheers at the Superdome while fans booed Swift.

While one fan responded, “own her omg” another person posted, “The @POTUS posted this. The ‘leader of the free world’ is a petty small man.” One man wrote, “savage.”

Leading up to the Super Bowl, Trump only had positive things to say about Kelce. He posted on Truth Social on Feb. 7, “Two great Quarterbacks in this game. Also, an unbelievable running back, and the absolute best tight end in football (Ever!).”

In an interview with Fox New before kickoff, Trump praised Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ wife, Brittany Mahomes. “I watched this great quarterback, who has, by the way, has a phenomenal wife,” he said. “She’s a Trump fan. She’s a MAGA fan, so I happened to love her, but she’s a great person.”
