Donald Trump has reportedly introduced a strict new rule for his grandchildren, drawing renewed attention to his former daughter-in-law Vanessa Trump’s relationship with Tiger Woods.
Vanessa, who shares her five children with her ex-husband Donald Trump Jr., has been dating Woods for over a year, and the children have often spent time around the golfer.
However, following Tiger Woods’ recent car crash, Donald Trump is said to be concerned about their safety and has reportedly banned his grandchildren from riding in any vehicle driven by him.

Amid growing attention on Vanessa Trump’s relationship with Tiger Woods, Donald Trump is said to have implemented an unexpected rule for his grandchildren.
The new rule comes in the wake of Woods being involved in a car crash and subsequently arrested by police, with claims that he showed signs of impairment at the scene already having swirled.
Given the situation, Trump appears to be concerned about his grandchildren’s safety, as they often spend time with Woods due to his relationship with Vanessa.
Now, to prevent any potential mishap, he has reportedly banned them from riding in any vehicle driven by the golfer.
“It’s a hard no,” a source told Rob Shuter’s #ShutterScoop. “He doesn’t want Tiger behind the wheel with his grandkids. Not happening.”
Vanessa shares five children with her ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr, namely, Kai Trump, Donald Trump III, Tristan Trump, Spencer Trump, and Chloe Trump.

Speaking further on the situation, the source said Trump’s decision has nothing to do with any disapproval of his former daughter-in-law’s relationship with Woods, but is instead rooted in concerns about the golfer’s past struggles with addiction and alcohol.
“Trump hates anything to do with drugs or alcohol,” added the insider. “That’s a line for him, especially when it comes to his family.”
While Woods has entered rehabilitation programs and undergone therapy to address his addiction, his recent DUI arrest has brought his past back into the spotlight.
As one insider explained, Trump feels “there’s just too much risk” in allowing his grandchildren to ride in the same car as the golfer.
“He would feel safer with Britney Spears driving them than Tiger Woods,” the insider also noted about Trump. “That’s how firm he is.”

Given that Trump is the patriarch of the family, it is likely that Vanessa, and by extension her boyfriend, will feel compelled to respect his request.
However, the restriction has come with its own downside, which is a strain on the bond between Woods and Trump’s grandkids.
“It makes things awkward,” an insider shared. “He’s around — but there are very clear boundaries.”
The rule has also raised eyebrows among observers, especially given the Trumps’ well-known ties to golf, and made even more notable by the fact that one of Vanessa’s children is already making strides in the golfing world.
“Kai is a serious golfer,” the insider said. “Tiger can be part of the kids’ world. Just not behind the wheel.”
Donald Trump Shows Sympathy For Tiger Woods After His Accident
In the wake of Woods’ crash, Trump shared his well-wishes to the golfer as seen in a post on X.
“I feel so badly… He’s got some difficulty,” Trump said during a chat with the press when asked about Woods’ accident.
He continued, “There was an accident, and that’s all I know. Very close friend of mine… But, uh, some difficulty.”
The president is known to be very fond of Woods and even publicly gave the legendary golfer his blessings to date his son’s ex-wife, Vanessa.
“I’m very happy for both, let them both be happy. They’re both great,” he said back in March 2025.

While Trump took a sympathetic route while speaking about Woods, some netizens refused to share the same sentiments as they focused on the athlete’s history of getting into car crashes and his past addiction struggles.
“Authorities should ban Tiger Woods for life for driving. It’s the fourth accident he provoked in the last ten years. People are in danger,” one wrote.
“ZERO. That’s the amount of sympathy I have, and it also happens to be the amount of interest I have,” another user said.
A third person wrote, “There’s NO EXCUSE for someone who can afford to have a driver, at his beck and call 24/7 if he wanted, to ever be behind the wheel, under the influence.”
“There is absolutely no reason for him to drive impaired. He makes enough money to save his life and others while he battles addiction,” another individual commented.
