Dolly Parton Reveals Shocking Bedtime Routine

Dolly Parton's Surprising Bedtime Routine

Superstar singer-songwriter Dolly Parton is an open book about a lot of things. Make that three open books, since she’s about to publish her third book in a trilogy about the many aspects of her life and career. (More on that later)

But now, the legendary country music icon is revealing a fact that even die-hard Dolly fans might be a little shocked by.

And it has to do with her bedtime routine.

According to geo.tv, Dolly goes to bed each night with her makeup on!

And her reason is simple. In an emergency, she wants to be ready to face her fans.

Dolly says it’s especially important to her to have makeup on when she turns in for the night while she’s in California. “I sleep in my make-up when I’m in California. With the earthquakes, I never know when I’m going to have to run out in the middle of the street,” she explains.

“I’m not going to be on the news and look like hell, which I do without make-up. So I leave a little bit on,” she continued.

Dolly Parton’s California Cabin Goes Under Contract

How she looked would likely have been less of an issue in the secluded Southern California cabin Dolly used to write songs in.

The 1,800-square-foot cabin is nestled in the woods of the picturesque mountain town of Idyllwild in Southern California’s Riverside County. So it’s unlikely anyone would see Dolly if she emerged without makeup on.

But in 2023, Dolly donated that rustic mountain cabin to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. The charity sold it for $585,000 less than a year ago. And the cozy cabin recently went back on the market for a listing price of $768,000.

Now it’s listed as “sale pending” and it seems will soon have a new owner.

Dolly Parton Has Plenty to Focus on in the Near Future

Still Dolly Parton has plenty to focus on a lot closer to her Brentwood home just outside Nashville.

Dolly just announced a release date for “Star of the Show,” the third book in her photographic trilogy that already includes “Songteller: My Life in Lyrics” and “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones.”

In an Instagram post announcing the new book, Dolly writes, “I’m so excited to finally share my new book with you, ‘Star of the Show: My Life on Stage!’ This book is a celebration of my journey as a performer, filled with personal stories, cherished memories, and never-before-seen photos from more than seven decades on stage.”

Dolly Parton is Busier Than Ever

The book is just one of the many projects the 79-year-old is focused on.

There’s also her wine label, her makeup line, her fragrance and her “Joleans” blue jean collection with Khloe Kardashian’s label Good American.

And after making its Nashville debut in March, the singer’s “Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony” will begin a 14-month national tour starting May 17.

Just three days later, on May 20, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will open a huge exhibit dedicated to all things Dolly. It’s called “Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker.”

The exhibit will walk fans of the legendary singer-songwriter through more than six decades of Dolly’s extraordinary career. From her humble beginnings in Sevier County, Tennessee, where Dolly Rebecca Parton grew up as the fourth of 12 children in a one-room cabin in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains… all the way through her rise to become one of the most beloved superstars in the world.

It will remain open until September 2026.

The exhibit is included with the price of admission, which is $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 6-12. Or you can upgrade to a guided tour led by a docent before or after hours for $52.95 for adults and $42.95 for children. You can purchase tickets here.
