The country music world is sending prayers to Marty Stuart after the legendary performer announced that he suffered an injury in the recent winter weather.

Steve Miller Band plays Wind Creek Steel Stage at Musikfest
Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives perform on the Wind Creek Steel Stage as one of two opening acts for the Steve Miller Band on August 3, 2019, at Musikfest.

The 67-year-old Grand Ole Opry member shared the news on Tuesday on social media.

“Well, there’s the slow hand — the Mojo Hand, the Unseen Hand, the Hard Working Hand, And then I fell down on a patch of ice and did an excellent job of hurting my hand and spraining my wrist, complete with a state-of-the-art hairline fracture,” Stuart wrote on Instagram. “Good job, Marty!!

“It’s getting better by the day,” he added. “The worst part of it all is I can’t play the guitar or the mandolin, at the moment. So, please pardon the cancellations and inconveniences. The Superlatives and I will return in full force just as soon as possible. Meanwhile, stay safe, everybody.”

Alongside the post, Stuart wrote: “Updates for February shows are coming soon, please keep an eye out on social and your email. For any refund information, please contact your point of purchase. Stay safe, everyone! Team Marty.”

His friends and followers were quick to send love.

“O no! We’re so sorry to hear that, Marty!” one person replied. “We will be praying for full healing as soon as possible. I know not playing for a while is going to be tough. We have all faith Ms. Connie will take good care of you. Love you both!”

“Rest up and take care of that hand Maestro!” another wrote.

“So sorry, @martystuart!” Joe Baugh replied. “Lifting you in prayer for a quick recovery so you can get back to pickin’ and grinnin’ as the maestro that you are. Wishing you and the fabulous superlatives much well wellness.”

There were plenty more comments like that and you can see them all as well as Stuart’s post on Instagram here.

Stuart’s health landed him in the headlines back in August, too, after he announced that he and wife Connie Smith had both contracted COVID. That forced them to postpone Smith’s 60th anniversary celebration with the Grand Ole Opry.

Stuart’s website lists his next scheduled performance as March 19 at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, Kentucky. He is scheduled to play The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on April 18.
