Kid Rock Is “Suspended” From Performing in California – Here’s Why

Kid Rock’s political outbursts have gotten him in trouble before – but not like this. Read more about how he got “suspended” from this state.
Kid Rock, born Robert Richie, is not one to back down from a political stunt. Let’s not forget his “Kid Rock for Senate” Tour back in 2017, or his attempt to boycott Bud Light beer. Lately, he’s been acting no differently, but it seems that now his actions have gotten him into trouble.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been preparing for the 2028 election early, taking to X to post memes and share his thoughts in all caps. Many might compare this to the way that Trump has campaigned in the past. Seeing as Newsom isn’t the biggest Trump fan, that makes all of this a little confusing. He’s used the social media app to call Trump a “socialist” and say things like that’s he’s “completely perverted capitalism.”
Aside from targeting Trump, Kid Rock, who is famously a Trump supporter, has also been a victim of Newsom’s trolling. Just last month, Newsom’s office account posted a picture of what looks like Kid Rock endorsing Newsom. The only problem with this is that it’s definitely AI-generated.
It didn’t take Kid Rock too long to respond, and it was clear he wasn’t taking any of this seriously. “The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ,” he quipped in response.
Kid Rock Tells His Supporters “Not To Gloat”
If you thought that was the end of it, think again. Just recently, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was suspended from ABC after making comments about the Charlie Kirk shooting. Kimmel made some comments about the “MAGA gang,” accusing the person who shot Kirk of being a Trump supporter.
In response to this, Newsom, of course, had to play into the pop culture of it all. On X, he said, “BECAUSE OF HIS HORRIFIC MUSIC, CALIFORNIA WILL INDEFINITELY SUSPEND KID ROCK FROM PERFORMING IN THE GOLDEN STATE. YOU’RE WELCOME! – GCN”
This doesn’t actually mean that Kid Rock is suspended from the state of California. It seems like an attempt to make fun of the whole situation more than anything else. If you’re curious as to where Kid Rock might stand on the whole situation, you don’t have to look too far to find out.
Just last year, in response to the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the Trump supporter posted his reaction online. Before you get any ideas in your head, though, listen to what he had to say:
“First off, let me convey to my family, friends and supporters that now is not the time to gloat,” the “Redneck Paradise” singer said. “We must remember that most of our left-leaning friends are good people who want the same things in life as we do, but simply think differently on how to get there. It is now time to be the bigger man. To extend an olive branch and unite all reasonable people of this great nation.”
It sounds like, at the end of the day, the entertainer just wants harmony between the two sides. And as for Governor Newsom, well, it seems like he’s just having a little too much fun on the internet.
