Cody Johnson Would Rather Spend Thanksgiving With Luke Combs Than Lainey Wilson—Here’s Why

Personally, we think spending Thanksgiving with Lainey Wilson sounds like a blast. Cody Johnson doesn’t seem to think so.

We all got a peek into Lainey Wilson’s house in that video she did with Architectural Digest. I think it’s obvious that spending the holidays in a home like that is probably beyond magical. However, when asked if he would rather spend the holidays at Lainey Wilson’s or Luke Combs’, you might be surprised at what Cody Johnson’s response was. Or, you might not find it shocking at all.

In an interview with Evan Paul, here’s what he had to say. “Probably Luke,” he admitted with a laugh. His reason? “I’m just saying, man, I’ve ate with the man, and he has good taste in food, so he’d probably pay someone to do it.”

It’s true, from touring internationally together in 2023 to starting talks of a duet, they’re probably good friends. I’m sure that Cody Johnson and Luke Combs have grabbed a meal a time or two.

Now that Cody Johnson has won Male Vocalist of the Year, he and Combs have something more to talk about. Combs has also won the award once in 2019 and again in 2020. This year’s CMAs marks Johnson’s first time taking home the title.

Lainey Wilson To Perform at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Cody Johnson Teases Potential Collab With Lainey Wilson

Even though Cody Johnson chose to spend Thanksgiving with Combs instead of Wilson, it’s probably better off. Lainey Wilson’s already got some pretty important holiday plans lined up. In addition to whatever she’s got in mind for family time, Wilson is scheduled to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade on Thanksgiving Day.

The parade will start at 8:30 EST and will run until noon that day. Other performers on the lineup include Cynthia Erivo, Colbie Callait, Mickey Guyton, and Kool & The Gang.

This wraps up an epic year for Wilson, who dominated the CMA awards this year as hostess and also as a contender for numerous awards. At the end of the night, she went home with three of her six nominations. Her wins included Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Best Album of the Year for Whirlwind.
