Cody Johnson Cancels the Rest of His 2025 Performances After Announcing He’ll Be Undergoing Surgery

Cody Johnson just hit pause on one of country music’s most anticipated tours, and it has left fans heartbroken across COJO Nation.
The Texas powerhouse announced that he is canceling all remaining 2025 tour dates after suffering a serious medical setback that will require immediate surgery. In a statement shared with fans on social media, Johnson explained that he had been battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection when things took a painful turn. The infection led to a burst eardrum, leaving him unable to perform for the rest of the year.
“It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen,” Cody wrote. “While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery.”
The news stunned fans who had been eagerly awaiting his next round of shows. Known for giving everything he has on stage, Cody made it clear that this was not a decision he took lightly. “The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time,” he continued. “Without the surgery my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support, now, and always.”
Cody’s message was filled with the same grit and gratitude that have made him one of country music’s most beloved artists. Fans know that when he performs, he gives it everything he has. Whether he is singing “Til You Can’t” or “Dear Rodeo,” his voice carries a raw power and emotion that have become his trademark. That is why this news feels so personal for his fans, many of whom flooded his post with messages of support and prayers for a fast recovery.
Johnson had been scheduled to perform in several cities across the country, including Pittsburgh, Birmingham, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Gonzales in Louisiana. The next leg of his tour was supposed to kick off on October 18 in Pennsylvania and run through the end of the year. Sadly, those shows will no longer happen as planned. His team has asked fans to keep an eye on their email for updates from ticket providers about rescheduled dates and refunds.
The singer recently teased new music from the studio, sharing a photo just days before the announcement with the caption, “Been working on something for y’all.” For now, that project will have to wait while he focuses on getting better. Anyone who has followed Cody’s career knows that he does not slow down easily, but this time, his health must come first.
Doctors have advised that the recovery process will take several weeks and that singing too soon could cause permanent damage. Cody’s openness about his situation reflects the same honesty that has defined his career from the beginning. He has never been one to chase fame or cut corners. Instead, he has built his success on hard work, integrity, and an unwavering connection with his fans.
As he prepares for surgery, Cody’s priority is healing so he can return to the stage stronger than ever. His next confirmed show is scheduled for February 14, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, followed by rescheduled performances in Columbus, Ohio, later that summer. He is also set to headline the 2026 Stagecoach Festival alongside Lainey Wilson and Post Malone, which is already shaping up to be one of country music’s biggest events.
Cody Johnson may be sidelined for now, but those who know him understand that he is a fighter through and through. He built his career on faith, determination, and a genuine love for what he does. As he said in his statement, he is praying for full healing, and COJO Nation is praying right along with him.
