Styles most recently hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ in November 2019, two months after Fineman joined the long-running sketch comedy program.

Chloe Fineman is becoming Saturday Night Live‘s resident master impressionist. But there’s one A-lister continues to stump her.

“My Harry Styles is really bad,” she revealed to Amelia Dimoldenberg on the red carpet outside of the SNL 50th anniversary special on Sunday. “I did it and he was at the table and was so devastated by how bad it was.”

Fineman then demonstrated a bit of her impression of her best Styles, croaking out, “Anyway, I’m Harry Styles, anyway,” in a stilted British accent.

“I do have a bit of an obsession” with British accents, she revealed to the English Chicken Shop Date host. Though she’s best known for her impersonations of several American stars, from Jennifer Coolidge to Drew Barrymore, she did go viral for her frame-by-frame recreation and parody of Nicole Kidman’s AMC ad. The actress’s Australian twang allowed Fineman to showcase her best accent chops.

Styles has hosted Saturday Night Live only once, in November 2019, two months after Fineman joined the long-running sketch comedy program as a featured player and did not appear with Styles in any sketches.

She did, however, appear in a sketch with another star impersonating Styles, though not on SNL. Fineman debuted her British accent as Fleabag star and creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge in a sketch for The Tonight Show, with host Jimmy Fallon as Styles.

“Oh, Harry, hi. A FaceTime, quite cheeky” she says as Waller-Bridge. “Well, you’ve caught me in the middle of dinner, a cheesy, drippy little slut of a pizza.”

Fineman joins the rest of the current cast of SNL at the iconic Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center to ring in 50 years of TV’s favorite live comedy program.

SNL50: The Red Carpetthe official pre-show, was hosted by Today and Morning Joe anchor Willie Geist and SNL alum Leslie Jones. The live three-hour primetime special airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock.
