Carrie Underwood welcomed an adorable new family member—and his name pays tribute to American Idol winner Jamal Roberts.

On Wednesday, May 21, the “Before He Cheats” crooner, 42, took to Instagram with photos of the precious addition.

“Surprise! We’ve got another new life around the farm!” Underwood declared in her update. “This little guy happened to be born on the day of the @americanidol finale, so we figured it would only be right if we named him Jamal!!! ☺️.”

In the featured photo, a newborn lamb stood bleary-eyed near its mother. Another shot showed Underwood posing with the baby animal, while a clip featured the lamb enthusiastically nursing from its mom.

The country star concluded, “Mama and Baby J are doing well…and I’m popping by the barn to get snuggles every chance I get! Welcome to the world, little dude!”

In the comments, Underwood’s fans practically swooned from cuteness overload.
