Lionel Richie could have Endless Love for his new American Idol co-judge, Carrie Underwood.

The pair are set to head into the 23 season of the long-running ABC singing competition show alongside Luke Byran as they begin their quest to find the next biggest musical talent. However, there has been some controversy surrounding the 41-year-old country star’s new venture after she performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration last month.

Carrie faced an onslaught of backlash from fans, with many going as far as to threaten to boycott American Idol. As a result, producers allegedly “forbid” anyone from mentioning Carrie’s inauguration saga to prevent any awkwardness.

But apparently, there is one person Carrie will have no qualms with. According to astrology expert Inbaal Hongiman, the pair will, in fact, hit it off with each other – so much so it looks like the All Night Long singer will be a shoulder Carrie can lean on.

Speaking on behalf of SpinGenie, Inbaal told Irish Star, “A bond will be formed by Carrie and Lionel, because their star signs, Pisces and Gemini, are both Mutable signs.”

She went on to elaborate on her point, explaining, “Like their counterparts, Virgo and Sagittarius, they are adaptable and non-judgemental, easygoing and embrace change,” adding how the duo will “be the giggly pair of the line-up.”

Inbaal did point out that Carrie also has a hugh chance of developing a strong bond with her other fellow judge Luke. “Pisces like Carrie and Cancer like Luke are both water signs, which means that they’re motivated by their feelings and can see eye to eye,” Inbaal noticed.

She continued, “They’re both people-centred and prefer to build bridges. Their bond will grow and flourish because their values of compassion and sensitivity are aligned.

“They’ll both favor acts that speak to the heart, not the pocket,” Inbaal concluded. The trio has been getting to know each other as they head into the first stage of the competition, called the “open call audition.” Host Ryan Seacrest has also been along for the ride.

This isn’t the first time the Before He Cheats singer has taken part in American Idol. Back in 2005, her career was kickstarted when she won season four of the show.

In celebration of her new role, she shared an emotional video last August that looked back over the last two decades of her career since her win.

“I went from no one knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show,” she gushed in the video, adding that she was “so proud of everything I was able to accomplish on the show and I am so proud of everything I have accomplished since.”
