Luke Bryan Reveals He Likes To Hang Out With Carrie Underwood's Husband, Mike Fisher

Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood became closer earlier this year, since they were both judges on American Idol. But Bryan reveals he and Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, were already close friends, and spend quite a bit of time together.

“Me and [my wife] Caroline, and Mike and Carrie, you know, we’re not having cookouts or anything. … But me and Mike, we actually get to fish and golf and do some hunting together,” Bryan tells Taste of Country.

Bryan might be closer to Fisher, but he admits he enjoyed getting to know the mother of two better, while they were both on Idol.

“I really enjoyed getting to know Carrie as a wife and a mother and who she is,” Bryan says.

“I really appreciate her as a human being and an artist and a mother….she’s just a pro in music and in life,” he adds. “We had a great time getting to work with each other on Idol.

Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood’s Future On ‘American Idol’

Neither Bryan nor Underwood, nor the third judge, Lionel Richie, have revealed if they are returning for another season of American Idol. But Bryan predicts that at least Underwood will be back on the TV show in 2026.

“I know she had a great time in the role,” Bryan tells Taste of Country, adding that he thinks the “Before He Cheats” singer will return.

“My prediction would be highly favorable,” he says.

Surprisingly, Bryan seems a big vague about his return to Idol, where he has been since 2018.

Idol is kind of a year-by-year, ‘Do we do it or not?’” Bryan concedes. He does say that he enjoyed working with everyone, which hopefully means he isn’t quitting anytime soon.

“Last year was really really incredible with Carrie and Lionel and Ryan [Seacrest],” Bryan says. “And the main thing is just, have fun with American Idol and have fun with the kids.”

Underwood might have been a new judge, but she didn’t waste any time in calling Bryan out when she felt he deserved it.

“I accused Luke of being grumpy,” Underwood reveals on Good Morning America. “I was like, ‘You’re grumpy, you say no to everybody!’”
