Carly Pearce made sure there wasn’t a dry eye at the Grand Ole Opry! The country music singer shared an unforgettable voice memo she once received from the legendary Loretta Lynn.

Pearce was paying tribute to Lynn while performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville, Tennessee. A longtime fan of the icon, she took part in a tribute show honoring Lynn alongside Martina McBride, Twitty and Lynn, Ashley McBryde, Emmy Russell, and others. The event was part of the Opry’s 100 Honors series, celebrating its centennial anniversary. This series recognizes several iconic artists who have shaped the Opry and the country music genre over the past 100 years, including Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, and more.

“I’ve loved Loretta all my life, and it was such an honor to celebrate her legacy last night on the @opry stage,” Pearce wrote on Instagram. “One of the greatest gifts I have ever received is that Loretta got to hear the song I wrote about her before she passed away. She sent me this beautiful voice text that I got to share with the Opry last night. Thank you for your continued influence, Loretta.”

In the voice memo, Lynn can be heard saying, “Hi Carly. This is Loretta, honey. I’m layin’ here in bed just takin’ it easy, and I’m fixin’ to get up and wash my face, maybe comb my hair. I don’t know. I ain’t got no place to go, have I? But anyway, I love your song. Thank you, sweetheart. I love you, honey. Come and see me sometime.”

Pearce has openly expressed her love and admiration for Lynn for years. She even included a song titled “Dear Miss Loretta” on her 2021 studio album, “29: Written in Stone.” Lynn sadly passed away at the age of 90 on October 4, 2022.

Pearce has had quite a year, recently revealing that she struggled with health issues before being officially diagnosed with a heart condition. Initially, doctors dismissed her symptoms, but she was eventually diagnosed with pericarditis, which is a condition that causes inflammation around the heart. She described experiencing “debilitating” symptoms before receiving a proper diagnosis and has since become an advocate for listening to your body and prioritizing health.

Speaking to Fox News Digital about her condition, Pearce said, “I’m doing a lot better. I’m still… on a health journey in general… hoping that this recurrent pericarditis isn’t recurrent.”

Before her diagnosis, Pearce recalled experiencing severe chest pain that was only relieved when she bent forward. She couldn’t lie on her back due to the inflammation and often struggled with shortness of breath, making it difficult to sing.

Despite her health challenges, Pearce has continued performing throughout her “Hummingbird” 2024–2025 World Tour, which is set to conclude on May 16 in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
