Bunnie Xo Shares Heartwarming Video Of Jelly Roll Pumping Up His Son’s Flag Football Team After A Loss

Coach Jelly Roll.
Jason Bradley DeFord, who most know by the name Jelly Roll, wears many hats. He used to be a rap artist, but know he’s found more success and belonging in the country music space. Jelly is also one heck of a songwriter, and could be the highest paid motivational speakers in the world if he ever chose to focus on that.
That being said, he’s having the same impact with his music than he’d have doing that.
On occasion, we’re all lucky enough to see him slip into that motivational speaker side of his personality. He’s obviously got the life-turnaround-story to back up whatever he says, and often times, we see that part of him break out when he’s accepting an award. I’m not one that watches award shows all that much… but I’m always there for a Jelly Roll acceptance speech.
This time around, Jelly Roll was standing up in front of an audience that’s very personal to him: His son Noah’s flag football team. Bunnie XO, who is Noah’s step-mother, took a video of the pep talk that Jelly gave to the team that’s called the “Tigers” after they suffered a loss out on the field:
“Hey listen man, this is part of it, baby. You have good days and you have bad days, but above everything, you have fun and you stick together. Y’all remember, y’all are a team and y’all figure out how to get tighter and be better together, right? That’s all right though.”
Jelly Roll went on to help the young team reframe their defeat. It looked like he held the attention of the kiddos throughout his speech, and the rapper-turned-country-artist praised their effort and abilities while encouraging them to come back better than ever in their next contest:
“Well, it was a good day in the sun as far as I’m concerned. The philosophy we have from this day forward: the Tigers don’t lose, the Tigers learn. Is that a deal? Take the time first to pat yourself on the back for what you do, showing up in a hundred-degree heat… and then think about what you can do a little better next time. But most importantly, tell your teammates you love them and you’re proud of ’em, and you’re going to come back next week and kick somebody’s a**.”
Love that. Like Bunnie XO said in the caption for the post, everyone could use a pep talk from Jelly Roll.
Name whatever problem you are facing and I’m sure Jelly Roll has lived it, or is at the very least familiar with it. Plus, it never hurts to get some inspiring words from a celebrity you look up to. I’m assuming these kids were very aware that they were on a team with Jelly Roll’s son, and I’m sure they’ll never forget the time the “Need A Favor” singer hyped them up out on the football field.
