For Years, Bunnie Xo Thought This Grammy-Winning Singer Was a B-tch Because of This One Interaction

Who is Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie Xo? | The US Sun

Bunnie Xo was disappointed after meeting singer/songwriter Jewel, who had this response when Bunnie asked to take a picture with her.

One thing about Bunnie Xo is that she’s going to give it to you straight. The podcaster didn’t hesitate when it came to sharing her negative experience with singer-songwriter Jewel.

On her Dumb Blonde podcast, the wife of singer Jelly Roll got to talking with comedian Matt Matthews. She began telling the story of how she met the singer-songwriter, who achieved massive commercial success with Pieces of You. At the time, Jewel was at the height of her fame, which was likely during the mid-1990s or early 2000s. Bunnie Xo wasn’t well-known yet, and the interaction began when she saw Jewel walking alone in a casino.

Starstruck, Bunnie, of course, asked the singer-songwriter for a photo. “I couldn’t believe it. I was like, ‘Oh my god, Jewel!’” she shared. Her excitement was received with annoyance when Jewel rudely responded with, “One picture, right now, right here.” The singer rolled her eyes, and Bunnie was taken aback.

Bunnie said she ended up declining the photo and walking away, ultimately deciding the interaction wasn’t worth it. After that, Bunnie admitted, “For years, I was like, ‘Jewel is a b**ch.”

With Bunnie rising to her own fame in recent years, she says she sees the situation in a different light now, acknowledging that you never know what someone is going through.

The Miranda Lambert Garth Brooks Incident

It’s a shame, but unfortunately, many people have similar experiences with celebrities they admire. Another somewhat reminiscent example is when country singer Miranda Lambert publicly voiced her disappointment in Garth Brooks, whom she had previously expressed was a long-time idol of hers.

It all started when, at the 2017 CMA Awards, Garth Brooks was accused of lip-syncing to his song “Ask Me How I Know.” To be fair, the singer was very open about admitting to lip-syncing the popular song. He even said that he’d been in the middle of a rigorous “12 shows in 10 days” tour schedule, and his voice was completely gone.

However, he might have changed his mind if he had known a lifelong fan of his was watching in the crowd. Yes, that would be Miranda Lambert, and no, she’s not a fan of lip-syncing. Although Miranda has mentioned before that Garth Brooks was her first concert as a little girl, and expressed admiration for the singer, that didn’t stop her from criticizing him.

Lambert’s boyfriend at the time, Anderson East, made negative comments on the situation in a social media post, to which Lambert commented her approval. The post has since been removed. “High five on this babe,” Miranda commented. “If you can’t sing then don’t. It’s better to be honest than to pretend. I think it’s bulls—t. My favorite performances were live-live. The truth.”

It’s safe to say that celebrities aren’t everything we build them up in our heads to be – and I guess that Garth Brooks and Jewel are the example in this scenario. It sounds like Bunnie Xo and Miranda Lambert learned this the hard way, but at the end of the day, we’re all human. Even Bunnie said this of her interaction with Jewel.

“She could have been going through a f**king divorce in the middle of this casino. She could have been on her period. There were a million things that could have been going on,” she said, and she’s right. At the end of the day, maybe we just need to give celebrities, and each other, a little more grace.
