He is only famous on TikTok

Raw emotion coming from Brianna Chickenfy.

I know you all probably clicked on this blog thinking it’s going to be another post that makes you think “oh god here we go again,” when it comes to Brianna Chickenfry speaking about her ex-boyfriend. And I think we can collectively agree that we’ve all heard way more than we wanted to about the seemingly never-ending Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia) and Zach Bryan drama.

Brianna, his ex-girlfriend, made headlines when they broke up after she claimed he offered her $12 million to sign an NDA so she couldn’t expose anything that didn’t paint him in a positive light. Obviously, she didn’t take it, because she’s spoken quite a bit about their relationship and what she paints as a pattern of emotionally abusive behavior from the country star.

While Brianna has gotten herself some backlash in the year after their breakup for her outspoken point of view on the allegedly abusive relationship, we recently see a softer, and in my opinion, more genuine side of Chickenfry in the most recent episode of Special ForcesWorld’s Toughest Test.

At the start of the episode that aired last night, October 9, Brianna Chickenfry shares that she’s competing on the grueling reality TV show because of the trauma she endured in her relationship. She’s doing this challenge to prove that she’s strong and to take the power back.

“I’m doing the course because I’ve had a really tough year. I was in a very public relationship. It ended really badly. I don’t really know exactly who I am, and it will teach me a lot about myself.”

In the episode’s challenge, contestants were taken into an urban war-zone simulation and tasked with saving fallen soldiers. It was their responsibility to remove the soldier safely from the war zone. The simulation showed the stress of being in that environment and how fatigue and other factors push you to the limit as a team player.

While Chickenfry was in the simulation, part of her confessional clip shared more about her relationship:

“Over the past couple of years, I wasn’t allowed to be me. From what I’ve experienced, I think women get steamrolled a lot, and they get put in corners. I used to be very strong. I don’t want to give anyone power over me. I really want to take control, and if I make it, it’s because I did it.”

Sadly, Brianna Chickenfry and her team failed the challenge, but they were not the only team to do so. Many groups that went through the simulation failed the test. After the challenge, she opened up more about her past relationship with Bryan in another confessional clip:

“I met my ex-boyfriend through Instagram DMs, like any regular person nowadays would. It was a very fast-moving relationship where I should have seen a lot of red flags, but I was blinded by a lot of things. My ex is a super famous musician.”

In the care after the challenge, her teammate and Sister Wives star Cody Brown asked who her ex-boyfriend was, to which Brianna shared that it was the famed singer Zach Bryan.

“He was awful towards me… He got famous on TikTok and thinks he’s God.”

In another scene from last night’s episode, Chickenfy is having a conversation with a Directing Staff (DS) member, when he asks why she was there and why she was getting emotional during the interview, LaPaglia revealed:

“I think I’m here to not give up. I think I kind of gave up on myself last year, just mentally… I was in a bad relationship. It was like a public relationship with a famous person, and it was just like I would leave my house with a smile, but nobody knew what was happening. I was in a bad spot. I lost sight of myself, and I just didn’t want to be here anymore. I was just a dark hole I had to climb out of. He offered me $12.9 million to sign away my voice.”

She said, referencing her claim that Zach Bryan offered her $12 million in exchange for her signing an NDA. After her interview with DS, the two agents sympathized with Chickenfry, noting that they could not imagine their two daughters experiencing what they had just heard from her.

In another confessional clip, she added:

“The people that followed me through this relationship watched me turn into just like a shell of a human. I just couldn’t let someone control how I feel and how I act anymore. In me not taking that money, I took control of myself back.”

Say what you want about Brianna and her milking this situation, however, I have to admit this feels like genuine, raw emotion from the Barstool Sports personality.

I’m sure this will not be the last time that we will hear Chickenfry talk about Zach Bryan. Still, it’s nice to listen to her speak from the heart about the struggles she went through while healing from her past relationship instead of playing into online hate thrown his way… but healing looks different for everyone, so who’s to say that her participating in that commentary isn’t healing as well.
