It’s not always easy being the son of the famous boy bander, Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys. Baylee Littrell told Us Weekly that he felt alienated at first while on “American Idol” because his father was so well-known.
“It was hard to make friends, and it was hard for people to understand me because a lot of people, they did have preconceived notions of how I would be,” he said.
The aspiring singer added, “And that’s one of the emotional parts of leaving is finally people get to see who you are. And finally we kind of set our differences aside or our assumptions of each other and all just started to bond.”
Baylee continued, “When I left I was like, ‘Man, I’m just now starting to know everybody and it’s so great,’ but it was tough at first. I was kind of alone. I didn’t have any friends.”
However, he became close to “American Idol” season 23 contestant Olivier Bergeron and told Us Weekly, “He’s pretty much my best friend now. He’s French Canadian, he’s from New Brunswick, and so we became friends during the whole process and we’ll be buddies for life.”
Baylee Littrell Was Thankful For His ‘American Idol’ Time
Baylee Littrell’s time on “American Idol” was cut short when he was eliminated on April 21. “My American Idol journey has come to an end. Thank you so much to all that supported me this season. I love you all,” he wrote on Instagram.
His father Brain replied, “Bubba I am and always will be in your corner. [You] are so strong and so very talented, and inspire me every day. It’s never the end, only the beginning for so many to be blessed by your gifts….. you killed it last night”
Brian’s Backstreet Boys band member, Kevin Richardson, wrote, “So glad you got to experience this. Proud of you young man. Your journey has just begun…”
Baylee Littrell Is Not Giving up After ‘American Idol’
Baylee is continuing his music career after his “American Idol” elimination. On April 25, he shared an Instagram post of himself in the studio and wrote, “Back to business.”
A fan told him, “You are so incredibly talented Baylee never give up on your dreams.” Another replied, “Success is right around the corner!! You have an amazing gift!!!”
On April 22, Baylee shared a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Girl From the North Country.” Fans loved his rendition and one wrote, “Just because ur not the next American idol doesn’t mean ur not a shining star!!! We love u Baylee!!!!! Ur career has only just begun!!!”
