Kid Rock has been given a whole host of new nicknames, but he won’t be happy with any of them.

The 55-year-old singer has been heavily mocked online as he took to X to promote his new track ‘Til You Can’t, which is a cover of Cody Johnson’s song. Country singer Cody recently spoke out about why he agreed to let Kid Rock release the song and add his own twist to the lyrics.

Sharing a link to the interview, Kid Rock wrote, “Thank you @CodyJohnson, Ben Stennis, and Matt Rogers.” The post, however, doesn’t seem to have done him any favors as the musician was ridiculed in the comments.

“Sit down old pebble,” one person commented as they shared a resurfaced video of Kid Rock saying, “You f–k with Trump, you f–k with me.” The video was originally shared by the singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, in 2024.

“Loser. Skid Rock, Rock Bottom are just a few new names,” someone else mocked. A third critic also gave him a new nickname as they fumed, “You’re so boring Kiddy Rot.”

“Washed up dips–t. This post made my day. I hope you lose whatever you have left,” another added as they shared an article screenshot which said, “Kid Rock’s concert faces cancellation after selling just 200 tickets.”

A fifth person slammed, “You’re f—-n clown.” Someone else pretended to be Kid Rock in the comments and wrote, “I’m kid rock, I’m a republican and it’s my whole personality, why isn’t anyone coming to my concerts?”

The link Kid Rock shared on X was to a podcast interview Cody Johnson did. Speaking on Dale Brisby’s Rodeo Time podcast, he admitted he didn’t immediately agree when Kid Rock asked if he could release his version of ‘Til You Can’t.

It was Cody’s head of label, Cris Lacy, who first told him Kid Rock was going to get in touch, saying, “He wants your blessing on him releasing this version of the song.”

Cody revealed his first reaction, saying, “I actually said, ‘What do Ben Stennis and Matt Rogers think about it? ‘Cause they’re the writers.” The songwriters had already agreed to the new version, as long as Cody was okay with it.

When Cody got a call from Kid Rock, he was supportive of the idea when he realized the musician was planning to add a new verse. “He said, ‘Here’s the deal, I feel like that Ben and Matt did such a great job writing the song. I don’t want to insinuate that they didn’t write it good enough,’” Cody recalled.

Kid Rock said the song brought up important things like cherished moments with loved ones and family. However, he said the one thing missing was God.

“I just felt like, you can only ask forgiveness and get to know Jesus until you can’t,” Kid Rock told Cody. Recalling his response, Cody told the podcast host, “I was like, what a great — and coming from Kid Rock! It raised the hair on your arms.”
