Kelly Clarkson made a major announcement about the future of her Studio Sessions residency.

Kelly Clarkson postpones Las Vegas residency due to ex-husband

On Wednesday night (Aug. 6), the original American Idol winner revealed she is taking time away from her Las Vegas shows to focus on her family.

In an Instagram post, Clarkson shared that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is ill, prompting her decision to postpone the remaining Studio Sessions dates in Las Vegas.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote.

Clarkson continued, “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding.”

The “Keeping Score” singer and Blackstock, who were married for seven years, share two children: daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington Alexander, 8.

Their marriage ended in June 2020, and after a lengthy legal battle, their divorce was finalized in 2022.

Despite the split, Clarkson has remained committed to co-parenting, especially during difficult times.
