A 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C supercar, bought by a British gentleman to take his wife on their honeymoon, is going up for auction for up to £3 million.

The 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C supercar was once owned by an Italian prince and a professional racing driver. At the time, the Italian supercar amazed the wealthy with its top speed of 120 mph (194 km/h).

In 1956, the car was purchased by Brian Eckersley, a 21-year-old British gentleman. Eckersley used the car for his honeymoon with his newlywed wife. Because of that special memory, he used the car throughout his life, until his death in 1999.

During his 45 years of ownership, Brian only made minor cosmetic changes, but kept the original aerodynamic features of Alfa Romeo intact. That is why, despite being nearly 100 years old, the classic car is still well preserved and almost intact.

Dubbed the “supercar of the era”, the 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C still retains its appeal to classic car enthusiasts. The car will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in London on May 22. The starting price offered by this famous British auction company is around 3 million pounds.
