Keith Urban Parting Ways With Longtime Manager in Latest Shakeup for Singer

Keith Urban parted ways for good with his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, recently. Now he is leaving his manager as well.

Country music star Keith Urban is experiencing lots of major changes in his personal and professional life these days. He recently got divorced from his wife of 19 years, actress Nicole Kidman. Now comes word that Urban is parting ways with his management team including his longtime manager, Gary Borman. Per Page Six, however, there is some important context to this announcement. According to the outlet, Borman “exclusively announced his retirement to Page Six and revealed he’s shuttering his company after 50 years.”

So it doesn’t sound like three was a blowup between the two or anything like that. Just someone transitioning to the next phase of their life.

Urban Is Very Grateful for Gary Borman’s Help

He and Urban worked together for a quarter century. The singer warmly expressed his appreciation in a statement given to the outlet. “I’m so grateful to Gary (and my entire Borman Nashville family) for the most incredible and successful time together.”

He continued, “It was extraordinary – what we were able to accomplish together – and I’ll forever be grateful for the creative and collaborative spirit we were all a part of for so long. I wish Gary and everyone at Borman Entertainment the very best journey ahead and look forward to what the future holds for all of us.”

Borman and Urban Were Close

Borman has had a distinguished career managing A-list stars such as the Bee Gees, James Taylor, and Faith Hill. He has heartfelt affection for Keith Urban. He told the outlet they “shared a journey not unlike brothers.” Borman also mentioned, “The place that I have in my heart [for him] will remain warm and my mind filled with wonderful memories. I have been and will remain a fan.”

Speculation Has Swirled About the Two Going Their Own Ways

The rumor mill is reportedly grinding away about Borman and Urban splitting up as manager and client. That seems partly because of the timing of Borman’s exit while Urban is still promoting his album, High and Alive.

Buzz has also been cropping up about Urban’s love life. He has been linked with two people, guitarist Maggie Baugh and singer Karley Scott Collins. Collins shot down that gossip herself, while a pal of Baugh’s did the same for her.
