Country Singer Fulfills 8-Year Promise to Her Sister
Country singer Ella Langley’s stratospheric success has allowed her to fulfil a promise she made to her little sister more than eight years ago.
The “Weren’t For the Wind” singer told Audacy’s Katie Neal that she and her younger sister Katie just returned from a Hawaiian vacation that Ella gifted Katie for her high school graduation.
“My little sister, she’s eight years younger than me…I don’t know why. I was just like, ‘you know what, Katie, if I make it in music at the time you graduate, enough where I can afford for us to go, I’ll take you to Hawaii.’ She literally painted a Hawaiian flower in her parking spot, so she has taken it very seriously,” Ella said on the podcast.
It’s been a promise the singer has kept in mind for her lookalike baby sister ever since, even when she started playing small gigs in hole-in-the-wall bars.
“It’s just cool to see in eight years what has happened from literally walking into bars with a tip jar and a guitar and actually getting to the point where’re like, ‘ surprise for your graduation. I’m taking you to Hawaii. It’s actually happening. It’s cool to see what happens, what can happen.”
In an Instagram post, Ella shares a series of pictures and videos from the trip to Hawaii with the caption, “Girls trip to Hawaii 🙂 🌸🌺”

Ella Langley Celebrates No. 1 Hit With ‘Sister In Song’
The success that funded that tropical vacation continues to grow.
In a new post on her Instagram account, Ella Langley is celebrating “Weren’t for the Wind” hitting number one on Country Radio. And she’s celebrating a different kind of sister who helped her achieve that feat.
In what Ella calls a “sentimental post” on Instagram, she writes about the song hitting number one, saying, “Theres no telling how many hours me and @joybethtaylor have put into having this moment together. Since that day on my back porch (the day we wrote our first song) we’ve dreamt about getting a #1 together. “
“Sure, there have been many days that it seemed pretty much impossible, but we always believed. Always. I’ve never seen someone so dedicated to the craft of songwriting the way Joybeth is. It inspires me daily. Day in and day out I’ve watched her work her tail off. Writing damn near 300 songs a year if not more (probably more lol). There’s no one more deserving than you JBT. If you love my music, you also love Joybeth. I wouldn’t be the same without my sister in song and my favorite/best writing buddy. Sitting a on plane flying back to Nashville with tears rolling out of my eyes thinking about how much we’ve talked about this moment and what it means to actually have it together. We did it JB 😭”
The picture with the post shows Ella and songwriter JoyBeth Taylor sitting in lawn chairs, laughing.

Ella Langley Uses Newfound Success to Purchase Alabama Home
Ella Langley, who has been touring with both Morgan Wallen and Riley Green this summer, is using some of the money she’s made from her newfound success to buy a little peace and quiet.
On Katie Neal’s Audacy podcast, the singer said she just purchased a lakefront home near her parents in her native Alabama.
“It just brings me back to who I am at the root of me every time I go back there. And when it comes to writing songs and being in that state of mind, I think it’s important to have a place like that,” she shared.
But Ella says she’s putting most of her money right back into her skyrocketing career.
“I’m still in the phase of I’m trying to get a bus,” she admitted. “I want a sixth band member really bad on stage right now, so that’s how I treat myself these days.”
