Miley Cyrus Has No “Desire” To Tour: “There Isn’t “An Infrastructure That Supports Artists”

Miley Cyrus tiết lộ lý do ngừng lưu diễn

Miley Cyrus won’t be hitting the road any time soon. During an interview with Good Morning America, the singer revealed why she’s largely sworn off the idea touring, something she hasn’t done in a decade.

“I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” she said, before noting that, in terms of touring, there isn’t “an infrastructure that supports artists.”

Life on the road, Cyrus explained, can really take a toll on a performer.

“You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love,” she said. “And then you totally crash at the end of the show. You start thinking that one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.”

Touring would also present unique challenges to Cyrus as well.

“It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road,” she said, “which is a really important, kind of pillar of stability in my life.”

Miley Cyrus’ New Visual Album

Cyrus’ interview was in promotion of her upcoming visual album, Something Beautiful. The project, which will debut July 16 on Disney+ and Hulu, features Cyrus in roles such as a showgirl and an old school movie star.

“These kind of nuances were important for me, creating something that I feel is really modern and very now,” she said. “But again, it’s really honoring… these kind of, like, you know, iconic women in film and in music.”

The outcome, Cyrus said, is something she’s “really proud” of.

“I definitely hear myself and go, you know, I have a very distinct voice,” she said. “I always kind of sounded like this, but it’s aged along with me and changed and evolved.”

Amid some vocal cord issues, Cyrus has come to realize how much her music means to her.

“I’ve always had kind of a unique texture, and I’ve gotten really used to working with what I’ve been given and training appropriately, giving myself boundaries,” she said. “I realized how sacred it is to myself and to what I do.”
