A resurfaced interview with Maggie Baugh may put those Keith Urban dating rumors to bed once and for all.

The 25-year-old guitarist who was romantically linked to the country music star, 57, after his split from his wife of 19 years, Nicole Kidman, once shared a dating rule that would mean a romance with Urban is off the table.

“There’s always been a rule [that] you can’t date the band members,” Baugh said in a 2017 interview resurfaced by TMZ on October 7. “Because what happens if you break up?”

If Baugh is still following that rule all these years later, it might mean that those dating rumors with Urban are nothing more than rumors. The speculation surfaced after Baugh joined Urban’s High and Alive Tour amid his separation from Kidman. There, Urban changed one of the lines from his song “The Fighter” – which was inspired by Kidman, 58 – to be about Baugh.

“When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” Urban sang instead of “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.”

Days after this moment on stage, reports claimed that Urban was already dating “another woman” after separating from Kidman earlier this year.

“All the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” a source close to Kidman claimed to TMZ on September 30. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.” Another insider claimed that rumors about Urban’s new fling are “all over Nashville.”

Sources have speculated that the woman Urban is dating could be Baugh, Alana Springsteen, or Karley Scott Collins.

Kidman and Urban’s split was revealed on September 29, with insiders saying that Urban made the “one-sided” decision to end the relationship early in the summer. A day later, Kidman filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Nicole Kidman’s Kids Just Revealed Where They Stand With Her Amid Reports Keith Urban Secretly Hated This Part of Her

Nicole Kidman + Daughters Go Public After Keith Urban Divorce

Nicole Kidman will always have her daughters by her side. The Eyes Wide Shut actress appeared hand in hand with her two kids with Keith Urban amid their upcoming divorce.

Nicole Kidman made a stunning appearance at the Chanel Runway Presentation for Paris Fashion Week for their Spring/Summer 2026 collection and was accompanied by her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and their cousin, Lucia Hawley. The actress recently became an ambassador for the brand, and the family had coordinating denim outfits paired with loose-fitting tops. And in the photo below, her daughters are showing solidarity with her by holding her hand. Sunday Rose, who is a model, also walked the Dior presentation earlier in the week.

The outing came after reports that her estranged husband Keith Urban had detested her in 2024’s Baby Girl. In the movie, Kidman plays a CEO who has an affair with an employee who is much younger than her. “Keith didn’t like the film and he didn’t even like Nicole promoting the movie,” said a Hollywood insider to Page Six. The “Somebody Like You” singer also feared that he would be mocked because of the film’s subject.

Kidman filed for divorce on Sept. 30 after TMZ first reported about the split the day before, saying that the ex-couple had been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”  However, it didn’t seem like it was a mutual breakup. “She didn’t want this,” a source told People. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

In the court documents, neither is seeking child support from the other, and the terms state that Kidman will be the primary residential parent.

News of another woman was first reported by TMZ. “All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” a source told the gossip site. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.” At the time, a source close to Kidman said, “It’s all over Nashville.”

According to People, “their split is turning dramatic,” with Kidman feeling “hurt and betrayed” by Urban. “Keith has not been honest,” the source added. “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on.”

Since Keith moved out, the Big Little Lies actress finds comfort in spending time with her daughters. “While Keith has been away on tour all summer, Nicole and her daughters have been inseparable, spending time together bonding,” an insider told People. “Now the focus is back to school in Nashville, where Nic has been getting the girls ready for the new year.”
