Another day, another milestone.
Fresh off his sold-out shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, over the weekend, which included walkouts with Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel and 4x Super Bowl champion, Rob Gronkowski, Morgan Wallen has continued his dominance on Billboard charts heading into the week.
After securing the title of most-played artist on country radio so far this year, most-played artist on TouchTunes throughout 2025 and becoming the first artist ever to spend at least 10 weeks at #1 with three consecutive albums (I’m The Problem, One Thing At A Time, and Dangerous: The Double Album), Wallen has notched yet another career milestone on the Billboard 200 today.
With I’m The Problem securing its 12th nonconsecutive week at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week with a total of 121,000 units, Wallen has now spent his 41st week at #1 album chart. In doing so, the “Last Night” singer has now spent the second-most weeks atop the chart this century, passing Adele’s 40 weeks. He is now second only to Taylor Swift, who owns a staggering 86 weeks at #1.
Additionally, Wallen has now firmly planted himself eighth all-time in total weeks spent at #1 on the Billboard 200 in the chart’s history. Joining the likes of The Beatles, Garth Brooks, Michael Jackson and more, he has now passed the likes of Drake, Elton John, Eminem, Prince and The Rolling Stones for most weeks spent atop the chart.
The Top 10 all-time is as follows:
- The Beatles (132 weeks)
- Taylor Swift (86 weeks)
- Elvis Presley (67 weeks)
- Garth Brooks (52 weeks)
- Michael Jackson (51 weeks)
- The Kingston Trio (46 weeks)
- Whitney Houston (46 weeks)
- Morgan Wallen (41 weeks)
- Adele (40 weeks)
- Elton John (39 weeks)
With I’m The Problem predicted to spend its 13th nonconsecutive frame at #1 next week with a predicted 121,700 units, it looks more than likely that Wallen can find himself at #6 all-time in the foreseeable future. This, however, may take some time given that Sabrina Carpenter’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2024’s Short n’ Sweet, Man’s Best Friend, is set to release this Friday, August 29th, with an estimated 300,000 total units.
For now, however, Wallen remains at #8 all time, which is nothing short of incredible given the fact that he did not debut at #1 on the chart until January 23, 2021, with the release of Dangerous: The Double Album. With his 41 weeks atop the album over the past four and a half years, he has spent roughly 17% of the time at #1 on the Billboard 200 since then. Keep in mind, this is an all-genre chart, meaning he’s competing with the likes of giants such as the aforementioned Swift, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny and more.
Regardless of your thoughts on Wallen, from his off-stage controversies to his overall sound, there’s simply no denying the power he has both on pop culture and the charts themselves. His success over the past five years is nothing short of unprecedented and will likely never be replicated by another country artist for the foreseeable future.
