Neither Marvel Studios nor Henry Cavill has confirmed his return as Wolverine in Marvel’s World War Hulk movie.
The rumors began when a Facebook page claimed to confirm Cavill’s casting as Wolverine in the World War Hulk movie, allegedly slated to release in 2026. Additionally, it revealed that the movie will be a major MCU event and will be about the beloved avenger’s revenge against Earth.
However, this rumor seems to be fake, given the project is not officially confirmed to be in the works, and neither a release date is attached to it. Moreover, Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed any plans for Cavill’s future in the MCU, as of yet. So, there is no concrete evidence or authoritative reports to confirm these claims.
While Cavill had shocked fans by making a cameo as Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine, he has also previously expressed his interest in playing another MCU character. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill addressed the rumors about him taking on Captain Britain’s role.
He said, “I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”
Though fans would love to see him return, it remains to be seen what the MCU has in store for Cavill next.
