Galatasaray shocked Liverpool with a 1–0 win in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday, thanks to Victor Osimhen’s first-half penalty.
After the final whistle, Virgil van Dijk shared a moment with the Nigerian strikers, as the two players swapped shirts in the mixed zone.
Osimhen’s goal also continued his impressive record against English clubs, adding Liverpool to a list that already includes Chelsea and Leicester City.
After the game, the striker said: “This is the biggest competition in the world, and we want to go far. We really have the quality to make sure that we achieve this objective.”
“It’s not going to be easy, we have to take each game as it comes. We still have some games coming, and we will be ready. We’ll try to give our all to ensure that we make history with this club.”
As for the Liverpool, they now have three points from two Champions League games all will hope to return to winning games against Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend.
