Twisted Sister have canceled their plans for a 2026 50th anniversary reunion tour due to newly revealed health concerns about singer and songwriter Dee Snider.
In September 2025, the band announced their plans to perform a limited amount of shows, 10 years after they hand concluded their farewell tour.
Two statements about the cancelation have been shared — one by guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda and the other by Dee Snider, who is said to have “resigned” amid health challenges, which the singer details separately.

Twisted Sister Cancels 50th Anniversary Celebration Performances
Due to the sudden and unexpected resignation of Twisted Sister’s lead singer Dee Snider brought on by a series of health challenges, the band has been forced to cancel all shows scheduled, beginning April 25th in Sao Paulo Brazil and continuing through the summer.
The future of Twisted Sister will be determined in the next several weeks.
Stay tuned for updates,

Statement From Dee Snider
A lifetime of legendarily aggressive performing has taken its toll on Dee Snider’s body
and soul. Unbeknownst to the public (until now) Snider (70) suffers from degenerative arthritis and has had several surgeries over the years just to keep going, able to only perform a few songs at a time in pain.Adding insult to injury, Dee has recently found out the level of intensity he has dedicated
to his life’s work has taken its toll on his heart as well. He can no longer push the boundaries of rock ‘n’ roll fury like he has done for decades.Says Snider, “I don’t know of any other way to rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.”
In the immortal words of Dirty Harry, “A man’s got to know his limitations.” Sadly, Dee
Snider now knows his.
Both statements can also be seen in the Twisted Sister Instagram post below, which is two slides.

When Did Twisted Sister Last Perform?
The last time Twisted Sister took the stage was actually a reunion performance. As inductees in the Metal Hall of Fame in January of 2023, they played three songs (“You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “Under the Blade” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It”).

Eddie Ojeda contracted COVID-19 and was unable to make it. Filling in for him was Keith Robert War, Twisted Sister’s guitar tech. Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy reprised his role behind the kit to honor the late A.J. Pero.
Prior to that, Twisted Sister advertised a final run of shows (the Forty and F*ck It tour) and had last played on Nov. 12, 2016 at the Northside Rock Park Meeting Fest in Mexico.
To this date, it stands as their last full show.
