Continuing the list of beautiful actresses that Marvel has recruited for its films.
This coming July, Marvel’s blockbuster Black Widow will officially be released to audiences after months of delays and postponements due to Covid-19. In her latest interview with Collider, actress Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, expressed her excitement, but she also couldn’t forget the experience of playing the character in the early days.

“Looking back at Iron Man 2, even though it was fun and had many great scenes, this character was overly sexualized, you know? The movie really treated her like an object, something to possess or something. It was like they only cared about the character’s butt,” Scarlett Johansson shared.

“Tony even mentioned her like that at one point. What did he say? ‘I want a piece too.’ At another time, he called her a ‘piece of meat.’ Perhaps back then, such comments were considered a compliment.”

The actress, born in 1984, shared that her thinking was different 10 years ago, and she even measured her self-worth based on comments about the character’s appearance.
“Of course, 10 years have passed, a lot has happened, and I’m very different now. I’ve learned more about myself. As a woman, I’m now in a different position in life,” Scarlett Johansson explained. “I forgive myself more, accept myself more. All of that helped me escape from being overly sexualized in the Black Widow character.”
