According to the BBC’s Simon Stone, Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues to back Ruben Amorim.

The pressure on the head coach outside of the club has intensified after United’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford.

In almost a year since Amorim’s appointment, United have earned 34 points in 33 Premier League games, the rate which would’ve placed them in the survival battle over the course of one season.

However, Ratcliffe believes it will be only fair to judge Amorim’s success after the first full season with what he views as the right team.

Sources at the club also dismiss claims about shortlists of potential replacements being drawn. Previously, Gareth Southgate, Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner were rumoured to be on such a list.
