Former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell share his Christmas wishes with fans with a shirtless video with his dogs.
ormer “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell has an eye for spotting talent, and his latest venture with Netflix is a docuseries titled “Simon Cowell: The Next Act.” The show gave an inside look into how Cowell goes about finding superstars to become the next big boy band, but he recently gave his followers a look at something else: himself!
A Very Happy Christmas from Simon Cowell
The music mogul posted a joyous video on Instagram on December 14. In the clip, he is wearing only swimming shorts. You can see a swimming pool and pool loungers behind him. In the video, he is holding his beloved dogs, two Yorkshire Terriers named Squiddly and Diddly.
Cowell encourages them to bark as he wishes everyone a “Happy Christmas” and tells them his dogs are saying “‘Happy Christmas’ in dog language.” In the caption, he shared his thoughts, writing, “Happy Christmas from Squiddly & Diddly.”

Fans found the video hilarious and praised Cowell in the comments of his post. “Merry Christmas Squiddly, Diddly & Uncle Simon,” a fan reacted. “Merry Christmas, Simon and dogs,” another fan shared.
It’s been a tough few years for Cowell, with work commitments and the loss of One Direction star, Liam Payne, on October 16, 2024. He had known Payne since the former One Direction star was a teenager, and his passing deeply impacted him. So, it’s lovely to see him looking so happy and relaxed, and fans picked up on it too.
Other reactions include, “Super cute!! Love these kiddos, Merry Christmas,” “I still just can’t get over the names! Brilliant! Happy Xmas Squid and Did! ,” and “Your laugh is infectious! It’s wonderful to see how happy you are.”
Simon Cowell’s Loved Ones
In addition to Squiddly and Diddly, Cowell will likely be celebrating the holidays with his partner, Lauren Silverman, and their son, Eric Cowell, who was born in 2014. His new Netflix docuseries also offers a look at a more personal side of Cowell, highlighting his relationship with Silverman.
Filming was ongoing at the time of Payne’s death, and the news devastated Cowell. He almost walked away from the show. Around the time, he also reflected on how his son could be in the same position as the teens auditioning for his new boy band. “You start thinking, ‘What if Eric was one of those boys?’ Is it something that he should do?’ But when someone makes up their mind that they want to go into entertainment and they’re talented, you’ve got to encourage them,” Cowell said in an interview with Page Six on December 6. “At the same time, you’ve got to look after them.”
